“You feel like at any moment Francis could just [throw a punch] and knock his lights out if he wants to but Francis, to his credit, he’s done a really good job of keeping his sparring partners intact,” Nicksick said. “That’s been the challenge a lot of times having Francis in your gym is keeping guys alive and around that can give him the rounds that he needs. So I usually have a ‘hey, don’t break your toys’ and he’ll ease off.

“The rounds between him and Sean are actually very competitive. Sean gets in there and gets after it and Francis will entertain him if you will and not knock him out. There’s some great rounds and credit to Sean, not everybody is champing at the bit to hop in the cage with Francis.”

All of that serves as the example that Strickland has set since joining Xtreme Couture and Nicksick couldn’t ask for anything more out of him.

“He wants to compete and he wants to compete against the best in the room,” Nicksick said. “If there’s somebody better than him in the room, he’s going to ask for that round. He wants to compete. He wants to see where he needs to get better. You’ve got to give him credit.”

Feels kinda pointless to spar him, you can’t get the real thing or he’s going to end your day early. What can he help with? Just a sleeping problem imo

Everything that guy says is so weird. I'm guessing he was abused as a child, and I do not say that to make light of the situation, nor to disrespect him. I feel genuine concern for a person who talks like he does, regularly.
Edit: I know he means he wants to train hard, but death is a recurring theme in his commentary.

Is nobody concerned about the things Strickland says? Or are we just going to chalk it up to "Fighters say the darndest things" until something happens?
I hope he is acting, but he might be legit crazy. Back in the days when Mayhem behaved in a certain way, I thought it was all an act.

Strickland should fight Nassourdine Imavov (#11 MW) who was Ngannous actual sparring partner when he began MMA.

Easy KO for Imavov if sparring with Francis brings Strickland so close to death.

Strickland is a great fighter but I worry that he one day will do a completely insane criminal act.

It's not like he's the only crazy guy in the sport. He's just the one getting the most attention these days.

Francis gonna beat gane into living death confirmed
