It's weird Leon pretty much pieced him up the entire fight, he just looked superior skill wise, but what happened in the last minute negated all the hard work, dude almost got knocked out and will have almost guarenteed to have lost the fight if it went on any longer.

Leon's in the exact same place title shot wise as he was before he won the fight, dude really has the worst luck, and the funny part is if Nate wins his next fight convincingly he could be ahead of Leon.

No one.

Diaz fans will stick with their one punch while still being beat up, dominated and lost and Leon fans to the W in a fight he ended up looking weak at the end.

No one really won new fans, but no one lost.

It was a reminder on both parts. Why Leon isn't getting a title shot and why Nate is who he is. You'd hope for improvement over these.

Leon beat nate just like masivdal did, so mma math says clearly he's next in line and noone else.

lol... if you thought Nate's stock rose after getting beat down for 24 minutes, you must be thinking about his future career as a punching bag.
Leon lost focus after facing zero coming back so long that he became complacent. Honestly, who expects the heavy bag to actually punch back??
He won't make that mistake again.

Its at that point though. Nobody expects Diaz to win anything anymore, They watch to see his antics. The bitch slapping, flexing and dismissiveness gets his fans all excited and then they get to hear him talk shit in the post fight presser. He's consistently the only unranked fighter that is always on the cusp of a title shot lol

Leon dominated Nate for 23 minutes. Nate rocked Leon and had 90 seconds of the fight go his way. If you think Nate's stock rose, you're wrong. He solidified his position as a damn good fighter with an iron will...which is an awesome achievement considering his age and his time away from the ring.

But he's never been championship material and this fight confirms he's a touch too slow.

It's Leon's time. Leon and Usman remind me of Khabib and Tony. And the UFC promoting Jorge Masvidal reminds me of when Conor cut in line to get the 155 title.

the fact you're even asking, gives you the answer.

the fact that seemingly half of mma articles on Sun and Mon talked about Diaz, also gives you the answer. and every one of them pointed out how silly - and yet true - it is.

Nate. He proved that in a real fight without time limit he would win while also providing the more entertaining performance. Its not even close.

Neither rose, both are about the same. Leon managed to win in a simultaneously impressive and unimpressive fashion. Nate did just enough at the end to get a decent name as his next fight.

Well, everyone is talking about Nate. That's all that matters.....

Nobody really. Nate remains the guy who most people that knew him to be before that fight. It's a reason he and his brother have the fandom that they have.

People for whatever reason want to crap on Leon. He is good, not great but missed an opportunity in that fight. He could've won all the rounds but damn near got KOd in the 5th. Anyone possibly coming over to his side probably felt like they were left hanging.
