2025 New Years resolutions

Lol, well I have a few different hobbies: drawing, writing, painting, photography, even fixing up retro junk and playing retro game consoles. Oh and reading.

It’s just finding it in me to actually DO those things right now. I lay in bed and think I should at least read a book, but can’t get myself to get up and go get it lol. I’ll get better. It’s just gonna take time and unfortunately effort lol.
Draw some stuff and make a thread. People will keep requesting for it and you can update it slowly. Other sherbros make threads about their hobbies. It ranges from cooking to star gazing. Just don't do magic. Nobody likes that shiet.....

I'm limited where I live but get my Administration of Justice course under my belt which starts in September.

If I can find an Air BnB that is cool with the kitties I would love another week in Vegas, the 8 days in 2023 wasn't enough. I fell back in love with it last trip and it's only a 3 hour drive.

Well it's that time of year again - that someone makes a stupid new years resolutions thread, which is then filled with smart ass comments and insults...

Anyone else have any new years resolutions ...that they'll probably break?

Mine are:
- Drink less
- Stop doing renovations and pay more off the mortgage
- Work out less (one cardio and one weights per week max)
- Do some traveling or more track days.
I want to get hit by a Ford Bronco going 200 Mph in the Octagon bitch.

It's also my 50th in April so it would be nice to do that in Joshua Tree. Again, if cats are allowed.

@subtlySteve fighting words!

Over the years performing magic, I've learned people generally fall into four groups: those who love the wonder of magic and enjoy it for what it is, those who just want to know how it's done, those who see it as a challenge to their intellect, and, well, assholes... the difficult ones.

Unsurprisingly, the people who don’t enjoy magic are usually in the last two groups... often a mix of the overly analytical and the ones who just like to be contrary.

I haven’t shared any sleight of hand in quite a while, but this has inspired me to get back to it in the coming year.

Thanks for the reminder, kitty!

people who dont like magic are the same people who dont like ice cream sunshine and days of work.

I find it odd when people see magic as a challenge to their intellect. It’s like, relax... it’s a magic trick, not the SATs.

That said, I’ll admit magicians can sometimes be to blame.

If a performer comes across as trying to “fool” their audience in a smug or condescending way, it’s no wonder people don’t enjoy it.

Nobody likes to feel like they’re being treated as an idiot.

The right approach is to make it clear that you’re not out to "beat" them... you’re sharing something that shouldn’t be possible.

Magic, at its best, is about wonder.

Anyway, Gott nytt år!
