2020 Motorsports thread.

Ferrari seems to be having "handling problems" on the straightaways ever since that "rules clarification" last year.
Last season, even before they did their cheating stuff, they were far better than this. Ferrari absolutely bottled it regarding this season. If F1 stays true to their Corona rules, which means that not much will/can change in regards to the next season, they are in a very grim place.

I'm a Lewis fan and he has the best car for sure, but damn being ahead 1,2 seconds is simply ridiculous.

It has to be just gut wrenching for the other teams to see Mercedes taking that 1-2 today and passing the Red Bull on track.

What does Ferrari do. They just can't get their shit together.

Great finish in Kansas. Harvick was the bad car of the Stewart Haas bunch but some luck got him to the front with a chance to win. A small tap by Truex allowed him to get alongside and a big mistake by Blaney almost crashed the field as he used Harvick to turn the corner allowing Cole Custer to pass on the outside of the 4 wide group.

Kyle Busch had trouble all day after starting in the front and slowly falling back. He is the Sebastian Vettel of NASCAR so far this season.

did I read somewhere Hamilton stood with a raised fist on the podium after winning?
If so, I'm done with F1 for the season.
As a fan, that's all I can do to object to the stupidity.

He did it twice. On the car and on the podium.

Cole Custer is one of the best damn NASCAR names that I’ve ever heard

What was expected to happen sooner has happened as Renault protested the Racing Point cars accusing them of getting their designs from Mercedes in violation of the regulations. It was brought up during testing that the Racing Point cars were very similar to the Mercedes 2019 cars. There are certain parts that teams can purchase from other teams but car design is not one of them. Renault thinks that Racing Point got assistance from Mercedes rather than designing something similar on their own. Racing Point uses Mercedes powerplants, gear boxes and suspensions from Mercedes so to fit those parts, the car will be of similar design. Of course it's likely that they copied the design elements of the fastest cars. The FIA investigated it during testing similar to the way they investigated the Mercedes steering system. I doubt they will be found to have done anything wrong.
