To Everyone Saying Jones is Cherrypicking Stipe

I like how all the people are ignoring that:

- Aspinall was the backup backup fighter
- Aspinall won the interim off another backup fighter, not the original challenger like usually happens
- interim titles are created to save PPVs and ticket prices, not because they're needed divisionally

The situation exists because they made the interim belt be Aspinall/Sergei out of left field and not Stipe/Sergei like had already been agreed upon as Sergei was the official backup fighter for Jon/Stipe. When normal interim shit like Tony/Gaethje happens we KNOW we don't go ahead with Tony still getting a title shot over the guy he just lost to.

It's fucking great Aspinall won. Don't get me wrong, he SHOULD be the #1 contender wins wise. His interim belt is completely meaningless garbage though.
Obviously they pulled Stipe to save him for Jon's lunch. Aspinal, Pav, Stipe, whoever was going to win that fight with Jones being out should absolutely have the interim title and Jon fights them as soon as he gets back. That's how it works. Jon, Stipe, Dana White, and anyone else who goes along with this pointless charade is 100% retarded.

Jones Resume (27-1):
Ryan Bader
Shogun
Rampage
Machida
Rashad
Belfort
Sonnen
Gustaffson x 2
Glover
Cormier
Gane

Aspinalls Resume (14-3):
Arlovski
Volkov
Pavlovich

Aspinall fans need to sit the fuck down and bow to the legend. There's levels to this shit, and Tom just isn't on Jons level yet.

Neither were OSP, Reyes, Smith & Santos, but Jon had no problem taking those fights...

This idea that their resumes have to be comparable is ridiculous. That's never how it has worked in MMA. It's just acting superior while choosing the inferior challenge lol

The point of a champ is that he takes on the rightful challengers, not the guys with the best looking resumes but who are clearly past it and who might as well be retired.

It's fine if Jon just wants to fight Stipe, but then just vacate the belt because he clearly doesn't want to actually fullfil the champ's role.

This is obviously an exception. It's Jon's final fight and he's earned the right to pick Stipe based on merit. Aspinall won't get his chance at Jones and ain't cause he's ducking pal.

It is clearly because he is ducking. Also, he really hasn't earned it. He has been a terrible champ and a terrible human being. He cheats in every aspect of his life. He has really not earned any favors.
And still he has gotten favor after favor from the UFC. It's time to repay those favors.

All the legends he fought when he was young didn't bitch about their resumes being that much better, than his. They were true fighters and wanted to prove themselves against worthy opponents based on their abilities as a fighter.

Jon isn't old at all for a HW. He also has been extremely inactive for the longest time now, he has had all the time to heal up injuries and do whatever physical therapies he has at his disposal as one of the richest athletes in the sport. He also had the time to seek other kinds of therapies a troubled soul as he is could benefit from. If he retires it's because he fucked his life up so badly he can't deal with the pressure of the limelight anymore, especially the limelight wherein the expectation lies that he should fight the interim champ and rightful challenger.

The problem isn't that Jon is ducking.

The problem is that the champ is ducking, so Jon is ducking

And Jon getting gifted the joke vacant title fight is what put him in this predicament, so it's a bit silly to say he should get another gift. What is this shit, Christmas  then his birthday?

well if this was 35 years old fedor who requested fighter x to be his last fight
no one here would hate him for doing so

but yeah people hate jones because the dude wiped out 3 generations of fighters
the best resume all time the hardest

thats literally the only answer
they hate jones
