"Distance Manipulation/Deception" Understanding Conor's Brilliant Matrix Performance.FULL Analysis!

Altough you exagerate on some things this is overrall a great breakdown. This is what sherdog should be like, threads like this are the real deal but unfortunately the vast majority here only cares is about what if Dee Devlin is pregnant or if Rockhold is dating Demi Lovato so what you will get is a bunch of stupid responses.
Agreed! The only critique is the claim of Conors "elite" level boxing. It's elite for MMA but the principles r GG level in the Boxing world.

MMA striking and footwork is getting better and Conor is at the for front of that evolution, but the separate arts, Boxing, TKD, Karate are generations ahead on their own.

Love the elevation he's bringing to MMA and hope it only improves in tactics and technique!

He's pretty damn good but all that is fairly basic to anyone who's done any boxing or read a Bruce Lee book.
The reason it looks o spectacular to your ass and comes as a shock to many of his opponents is because the vast majority of mma is stuck in that muy Thai , plodding footed , let's take turns throwing combos/defending. Were seeing an influx of boxing/fencing mechanics being utilized. Conor doesn't look much different than wonderboy out there in the foot work department and is a level underneath Silva there. The only reason I could see you having such a hard on for McGregor is that you're biased and lacking at seeing the other fighters subtleties , many of which are equally brilliant to the intricasies/ facets of McGregor's game.

You will notice, its always the biggest newbs spewing non sense and blindly hating on Conor

Its because you dont know what the fuck you are watching, its that you cant appreciate Conor. Thats just the truth.

Theres a reason why you can never ever prove any of your "claims" about Conor "or his flaws" with any kind of examples or breadowns. You are all just EMPTY talk/blind hate

Read the OP. Look at the actual many real world examples I posted. THOSE are what you call PROVING WITH FACTS...something you dont know the meaning of

1. So whats basic about Conor utilising numerous forms of distance deception methods to create countering oppurtunities?

Exactly. Sit down. You just dont know boxing, dont know MMA, and are blinded by hate

Conor utilises ACTUAL skill and tactics to draw in

UNLIKE Anderson who relied soley on taunting because he didnt have the actual skill or boxing IQ to mislead, misdirect or draw in, like the vastly superior Conor

Anderson made a living off of countering hand picked LOW IQ brawlers in gift squash matches

When Anderson actually fought a fundamentally sound striker who didnt gift wrap him the counter on a silver platter, who jabbed and stayed disciplined, who utilised fients to disguise their timing(as well as to throw his timing off) look how ineffective Anderson would then become - he would essentially get shut down and perform like an amature

bisping-rocks-silva-rd-1-alt-view.gif

Simple feints throw Anderson off

Bisping then leads with a left hook

(Anderson was so basic he could only ever dodge/counter predictable combos. A simple left lead would throw off his pattern based head movement)

Look how Anderson throws himself so widley out of position with a PATHETIC right hook response. Feet so out of position. Terrible defense/terrible defensive responsibility. Anderson=day 1 amature

You will never see Conor throw himself that out of position and get wrecked that badly with his feet that out of position

BOOM!

Unlike you I actually continue to prove my points...you just talk anti-Conor non sense that is void of any meaning, reality, or factual backing what so ever

Conor>>>>Anderson and its not even close

Conor actually out strikes other legit strikers

2. Not even current high level boxers utilise distance deception.

Floyd and Canelo are the only ones who come to mind who have adapated it to their game and who use effectively with any kind of regularity

So Conor is utilising legit world class boxing methods regularly that not even most high level boxers know of - and or are utilising

"Bu but Basic derp"

3. Even then, going by your stupid reductionist "logic"

All Floyd did was throw right hands off of lazy jabs. Basic. Nothing impressive

*While ignoring all context of how it was Floyd who controlled, decieved, and drew out, JUST LIKE how its Conor who controls, decieves, and draws out

You just dont know jack squat about boxing

You know what, let us go back to your over-rated, hype job hero Anderson who was exposed by Weidman and Bisping

That Vitor KO? Anderson just threw a basic front kick that amature students in Karate learn

All Anderson does is punch or kick. Basic

See...

Basic or not, Conor does everything striking related at an unheard of skill level that no one in MMA has ever come close to reaching....

Conor is always switching things up, giving different looks.

Conor is superb from every range and every position

Conor will make you miss and PAY from any range and any position

Conor is the best striker/purest skilled boxer MMA has ever seen

Again, you just dont know what you are watching

4. And thats further PROVEN when you say "bu wonderboy is doing the same thing"

I like Wonderboy and think highly of him, but he isnt in the same universe as Conor

Show me Wonderboy utilising distance deception to counter

Show me Wonderboy putting a boxing clinic on a boxer the way Conor did to Nate

Show me Wonderboy manipulating opponents into position with feints or jabs like Conor

Show me Wonderboy stepping around opponents and creating angles

Wonderboy is all about kicking, controlling long range, then countering desperste rushes past the kicks

He doesnt have the boxing, set ups, and IQ of Conor...not even close

And Wonderboy typically avoids boxing exchanges in middle range because his boxing isnt that great and he has defensive flaws

Where as Conor is again flawless from every range

Conor can pick you apart from any range...make you miss and pay from any range or position

Conor simply has far superior boxing, footwork and countering

Wonderboy only has better kicks

Its disgusting how we have MMA's most skilled striker ever in Conor...yet newbs like you will discredit and downplay him, while worshiping much lesser skiller - lesser deserving fighters....

IF you claim to be a MMA fan, yet cant even appreciate its most skilled competitor/striker ever in Conor, then stop watching MMA....or at least attempt to correct the ignorance that causes you to not understand/appreciate Conor

Whats most sickening/disturbing about you Conor hating newbs is how arrogant you are in your ignorance/delusion

Conor sherdog haters have mental illness

Conor haters? I've been a fan since I saw him fighting in cage warriors years back. posted his highlights right after to my Facebook and said "that's a bad whiteboy". don't be hurt that a person that knows fighting isn't as blown away by some basic fencing and boxing footwork like you are. mcgregor is legit as fuck but he's not the God you claim he is. the blueprint was out there on how to beat Diaz and mcgregor has the footspeed, handspeed and superior footwork to have blown Diaz away no contest...do you know why he didn't? he has all the tools too but he didn't because his brain doesn't operate as high level as you're thinking.

Every time this pathetic loser talks about Anderson he only shows gifs from Bisping and Weidman fights, why you so scared to show Anderson in his prime? I can just post gifs from Nate-Conor 1 and say Conor is overrated and show him getting rocked by a simple 1-2 from Nate. Wonder how Conor will look in his 40s, assuming he even fights that long.

There are plenty that are as good as mcgregor is and a few that are superior at striking. I appreciate everything one of the fighters, and each of their nuances and subtleties . .. it's you who under values the other fighters with your statement. you mistake mcgregors physical advantages for a technical advantage. he's been faster than all opponents, been the harder puncher , and has had a reach/height advantage in them. you're correct he does judge distance superbly , especially against a shorter man. The slow footed, slow handed Diaz troubled him because he's not the distance judging God you make him out to be when he is at a physical disadvantage . as I said all the technical flaws/mistakes he makes up for in speed/timing , power and good footwork plus length. he paid for his hands down , chin up flaws against Diaz because he didn't enjoy his normal reach advantage. as he ages and the reflexes slow that style will cost him big time just as it did Roy jones. mcgregor is top level in mma but you disrespect the whole damn game when you blanket all fighters as inferior. you're the newb that hasn't seen these things done by any but mcgregor not me newb.

Every time this pathetic loser talks about Anderson he only shows gifs from Bisping and Weidman fights, why you so scared to show Anderson in his prime? Right the lame has no clue that Silva is in his late 30s. he don't know what fundamental defense is and can't see where mcgregor lacks in fundamental defense.

take Conors dick out of your mouth so you can see the flaws before you spew bullshit. Conor mcgregor is sorely lacking in fundamental defense to the point that a mini armed Mendes caught him several times. if he was the God at striking that dude thinks he is he wouldn't get tagged by mini, the flaws really were exposed when he faced a longer fighter than himself. Diaz is slow handed and even slower footed but he put leather all over mcgregor because mcgregor lacks solid fundamental defense. he is good at giving ground and countering with a stop hit. ts is so damn basic that he's wowed by the basics. mcgregor beats these guys on physicality not technicality. he hits harder , is as fast, and is longer than just about everybody 155 and under. The featherweights have caught him with his hands down, chin up , losing balance throwing his left too hard but they lack the power to hurt him, Diaz isn't a big puncher but the same flaws were there in that fight and he got rocked for them. no floyd Mayweather of mma , he's the Roy jones. when his prime passes and the fundamental defense isn't fixed he's going to start looking bad out there just as Jones did.

If it helps, ignore the TS's hyperbole because he does that in every thread.

But it's true that other fighters rarely if ever utilize true distance deception and are as offensively potent as McGregor. I think McGregor is the most offensively potent fighter I've ever seen. Not as versatile as Anderson Silva, not as defensive as GSP, but his offense is so good his best defense is actually OFFENSE a lot of the time.

McGregor moves backwards and laterally and can still hit you with alarming regularity. I can't say the same for 99% of other fighters. His spine remains straight and body balanced.

McGregor does look like Roy Jones in some respects but be fair---he has very good technique. Poirier didn't do all that much. McG took a daring open shot against Aldo. Diaz didn't even hurt him that badly. Alvarez barely touched him.

The fact that McG is mostly undamaged throughout the past 2 years is a testament to his offensive defensive ability.

Dude used a gif of Silva being tagged a few times in a 25 minute fight, Diaz tagged mcgregor more times in 1 and 1/2 rounds in Diaz -mcgregor 1. meanwhile if he had watched Silva bisping closely he would see that Silva displayed some of most epic blocks, hand parries, rolls, slips, and counters to bispings flurries that you will see in all of mma. dudes 39 and clearly shows signs that he's slowed but he did make bisping miss way more than Rogan lead a casual like ts to believe. I watch the same fight over and over for a week or two to catch shit that I miss in there Silva absolutely still has the best defense in the game even at 39. I know ts is gonna think " wow bisping handled Silva against the cage" but no Silva made him miss more but just like in Diaz mcgregor 2 when Diaz would flurry it would look good but not much was landing on mcgregor cleanly, same with Silva and bisping. I'm going to really piss ts off with this statement but its going to be true... bisping is a better boxer than mcgregor technically speaking . he has his chin tucked better, throws a more proper jab, throws better combos, feints on par, keeps his hands up to block better. the thing is he lacks the power that McGregor has so his shots are less effective. mcgregor is a lot like machida with better hands, power, and more composure. I like mcgregor a lot more than machida tho.

Its all a testament to his good distancing but as we saw against Diaz it's waaaay more effective when the opponent has to close the gap . Diaz hit him way too much and yes he was hurt badly but conor is in exceptional condition . he was clearly on jello legs when he shot for that takedown and if he wasent in such good condition he'd have fell on his ass. I like mcgregor , I'm not here to bash him in anyway and I will give you that he is very effective in what he does. what I am saying is let's not pretend he's a notch above the field when he is not. Diaz has been beat plenty and the blueprint is there yet mcgregor lacked the capacity to get it done. I mean realistically he is much faster than Diaz, hits harder, better footwork , better kicks, and if he'd just fix his lacking fundamental defense he's a far better boxer than nate too. he should've washed nate in fight one and never even seen a fight 2, he didn't tho and he struggled against him in the 2nd as well . what stands out about nate skill wise to you? I mean what makes his fight tougher than an Aldo fight? for one Aldo lacked discipline and hung his chin on a platter , 2 is that Aldo is clearly a more skilled fighter but doesn't have a size advantage over mcgregor. the only advantage diaz had over Aldo and mcgregor is length , so you see mcgregor isn't all that technically great, he fires when the opponent does while taking a subtle step back, he will always trouble a smaller man coming in but will also always struggle with longer men who don't have to lunge to close the gap. a smaller man can beat him too but needs to be very, very patient not to leap into a cracking left hand counter.

he's been tagged plenty, he's the bigger man.. look at his head

I have plenty of combat experience, and watch mma/boxing all damn night and I'm not bsing you guys. started boxing at 13 but got into some major trouble (attempted murder) but my love for the sport never died. I train my nephews , cousins and a few others and I watch fights on YouTube for a hobby and I watch the same fight for days over rescoring rounds , looking at the subtllties and I'm telling you that I love Conors game , I do but I've seen it all before.

Just read what dude said about Silva fighting bisping his first opponent to feint and utilise distance control. Silva is 39 out there dipshit and mcgregor has never fought an opponent who does any of those things in fact those are exactly the traits that would stifle a mcgregor. bisping has more sound boxing than both mcgregor and Diaz . you bums are seeing a superior physical specimen (mcgregor hist harder, he's faster, and longer than his 99 percent of his dvision) with a superior technician. if he was everything you think he is he'd have whitewashed Diaz with that slow plodding foot work and slow easy to read 1-2. nope he didn't wash him and was stunned, choked out , and taken to a 5 round war against an inferior man in diaz.

There's a book out there on how to beat Diaz, how come this master who's levels above the rest of the mma world lost too and then went to the brink in a five round war with diaz?

Why does your master
These were the themes on full display from Conor through out the fight

Control

Distance manipulation/deception

High level baiting tactics

We will cover each.

Take a seat, get some popcorn, and lets dive deeper into analysis! Its going to be a long one. Im covering everything as thoroughly as possible. Lets truly begin to understand the brilliance of Conor. A journey of epic proportion!

If you watch Alvarez, you know the staples of Alvarez's game are level changes (to create oppurtunities or open up) and his darting right straight lead

Here is Alvarez's darting right lead against RDA
NeglectedSophisticatedAcornwoodpecker-size_restricted.gif

A darting right lead is when Alvarez will lead with the right with no wind up as he steps off to his left, taking himself off the center line - away from any return fire

Leaning to the left then leading with the right as you are stepping off to the left is something not many are used to or prepare for. And theres no telegraphing.

Alvarez has used this effectively against nearly everyone he has faced

What you will see is how Conor is just another supreme-being of a counter striker with truly educated footwork who operates on a higher dimensional plain of reality. I believe 3 of the 4 KDs (and the KO itself) actually came from Conor countering Alvarez's darting right leads

Firstly, I want to show the opening exchange below:

2469r3q.jpg

Look how Conor fients a level change, and how it gets Alvarez to back out of range and circle into Conors opening 1-2 lead.

Already we see Conor utilising tactics (in this case, feints) to back him out and lead him where he wants him (into the 1-2)

After the 1-2 Conor ducks to pre-emptively avoid any return fire. Conor makes Alvarez's left hook-response miss.

Pure classic boxing skill. Shoot the lead and duck to pre-emptively avoid any return fire. Conor's boxing fundamentals are sound as can be and his knowledge of boxing (boxing IQ) is incredible

Now the reason why I wanted to show that is this. Conor actually utilised the same shoot and duck to lead against vs Aldo.

But here (against Alvarez) Conor feints a level change to lead Alvarez into it, and its a 1-2 this time. Another example of how Conor switches things up

Let us cover the 1st KD:

Alvarez is trying to swat Conor's lead hand away, but now watch closely how Conor fients to back Alvarez out of range. Conor establishes control of range

2uzw384.gif

Now pay attention to how Conor in control, changes head slots, leans forward to his right to appear as a closer target (hes completely off the center line defensively responsible) and then throws a non-committal throw away left at quarter speed. If Alvarez had tried to counter that bait shot, Conor was already a step ahead ready to counter and execute on the dime

You may ask what is all this Conor is doing? It is IS ALL TO ENTICE Alvarez to respond

Conor is making himself appear as a closer - more vulnerable target then he truly is

This is the deception "im close, im open, come get me"..

No real mistakes on Alvarez's part. Conor just simply being a MASTER of deception/baiting (Conor truly is MMA's Floyd)

Alvarez responded with his darting right lead as we saw

Because Conor is always taking good positioning, his head is already off the center line or hes out of range. He needs as little energy as possible to move and make the right lead miss
2060cub.jpg

Conor intercepts Alvarez instanly with a counter left to right hook combo before Alvarez can even step off to his left. Thats just amazing. Conor has the fastest reaction speeds in MMA.

Not only because of Conor's hair trigger reactions. You just blink an eyelid and Conor is reacting and already on the draw ready to counter that ass, but also because Conor is always controlling what his opponents do, so he always has a leg up.

The intercepting counter combo from Conor (before Alvarez can step off to his left) forces Alvarez out of position with him now stood with his feet parallel by Conor's counter.
2up5zd1.jpg

Conor literally now has the deadly T-position on Alvarez, and then instantly follows up over his shoulder with a sneaky flash of lighting left follow up right on the chin !

I mean...wow....thats just flawless control, deception, insane boxing skill, countering skill and super-human reaction speeds by Conor

Now lets move on

4vmej6.gif

Here Conor probes his lead hand as a blinder/distraction, then shoots a jab behind it. It may not seem like much, but pay attention to how it pushes Alvarez out of range and gets Alvarez circling back toward Conor's left (as the gif ends)

And you will see it through out the fight. Conor was utilising fients and flick jabs to push Alvarez out of range and to move him and or position him to where he wanted him (Into the left)

Here is another example

28gv6nq.gif

Jab then push kick. Again to back Alvarez out of range (range control) and to get Alvarez to move where he wanted him to (back circling toward his left)

Alvarez in the post fight said what many of Conor's opponents have said,

"I made the mistake of willingly 'playing' Conor's game," like if Conor isnt the better fighter, that "they simply made mistakes"

They never realise how Conor was utilising tactics to move them to where he wanted them to and how in tandum utilises many distance deception methods to create a false sense of distance to lure in and counter

99% of MMA fighters are like first graders only programmed to understand checkers. Conor is BOBBY FISCHER PLAYING elite CHESS

This one is just sublime by Conor

Earlier we talked about how level changes are a large part of Alvarez's game

Pay close attention to the gif below how Conor takes a subtle step forward with his lead foot (while look at how his back foot is planted maintaining his range)

24ew9a8.gif

This makes Alvarez think Conor is closer then he is. Conor utilising another form of distance deception to make Alvarez miss-read distance

Alvarez feints a level change. Conor sees it a mile away (btw, notice how Conor half-cocked an uppercut. Conor was prepared to counter Alvarez's level changes with uppercuts)

Conor now simply pulls back his lead foot to normal (notice back foot still around same distance through out). This draws Alvarez out for another attempt. Alvarez drops levels and tries to go up top with an uppercut off of it (very Mendes-esque)

Conor readys his back foot, plants, slips to the outside and counters with a cross face elbow

This is just world class boxing skill+footwork+defense+countering skill by Conor. Absolutely SUBLIME!

...and if Conor had missed the counter, he still wouldve been able to use his cross face elbow to jam Alvarez neck, control Alvarez's posture, shut down return fire, and or land off the control.

Everything Conor does has built-in defensive responsibility/control

Now lets go back to the gif again, as we saw here
24ew9a8.gif
Now look at how - after Conor lands the outside slip to cross face elbow counter, Conor jabs to back Alvarez out of range (reset/re-establish range)...Conor then jabs again to get Alvarez moving toward his left again...

Again, Conor is a MASTER of manipulation...Hes on a chess board moving opponents to where HE WANTS THEM...that leads directly into the 2nd knockdown. It happens literally right after, so you can see how it was Conor's jabs and flick jabs that were "positioning" Alvarez in place for exchanges etc

Here is the 2nd KD from a new angle:

xfc8js.gif

Conor probing his lead hand constantly...not only can Conor feel out range, look how Alvarez is constantly reacting, its keeping Alvarez pre-occupied while Conor controls and maintains without leaving openings. PURE control by Conor.

Again, Conor leans off the center line and throws a noncommittal, 10% speed left

Again all to entice a response or lunge

"Distance/baiting"

Conor steps back as he counters undeneath Alvarez's darting right lead, right on the chin, then pivots out

Such beautiful legit world class boxing skill/countering skill by Conor

After viewing all the examples, and like we also saw in the Nate fight, Conor counters EVERYTHING, every step, every punch, every response. Conor is truly MMA's Floyd in reaction, skill, and IQ

This was such a beautiful sequence from Conor for KD #3:

2ihuvkl.gif

Lead hand control to shut down jab hand. This typically forces a right hand response. Conor was likely looking to draw out the right and slip and counter it ala Bunchinger.

But then you see Conor just completely mix it up on the fly when Alvarez is not biting. Shoots a smooth left straight off the lead hand distractions. Conor then instantly flicks a jab in Alvarez face to blind him for another left straight coming right behind it. Again, beautiful boxing skill by Conor

Below we will see how Alvarez actually managed to get a pretty good takedown attempt on Conor off a jab

Look at it from a new angle:

2s6lvf8.gif

That was actually a good shot attempt

Conor is just so fast with hair-trigger reaction speeds. Conor hops back and instantly gets underhooks. Pushes Alvarez up and swings him into an elbow off the break. Like I said in the Pettis thread, Conor will make you pay from every range and every position

Keep in mind, a hurt and tired Alvarez was still slamming Melendez in rounds 2 and 3, so Conor showed great TDD regardless if Alvarez was already hurt.

Lets look at this one:

11gnbzl.gif

Again Conor leaning forward utilising distance deception. A jab feint from Conor draws out a left hook response from Alvarez, Conor simply pulls back into normal range from his lean while countering with a jab. It was actually a 1-2 counter attempt but Conor sees Alvarez hop away and stops the left

Another jab gets Alvarez moving toward Conor's left...As Alvarez is being walked toward Conor's left (by the lead hand probes/fients) Alvarez probes his own lead hand, Conor controls the lead hand then simultaneously shoots a left straight down the pipe, on the off beat, as Alvarez's jab hand is out - out of position, and as Alvarez was being circled into it.

Holy sweet jesus what outstanding boxing skill by Conor - Alvarez never has a clue

That sequence basically embodied the themes of the fight. Distance manipulation (jab feints to move him into where he wanted, control, execution)

Another one:

25726f6.gif

Conor takes his head off the center line as he is leaning forward to his right. As Alvarez shoots a jab, Conor's head already off the center line, Conor simultaneously counters the jab. This is called a split entry counter left. I.e moving your head then timing and splitting the jab while off the center line. Split entry counter lefts were a staple of Manny Pacquiao's career. Its just another arsenal Conor has in his incredible tool box of counters

After Conor hits a beautiful split entry counter left, they battle with lead hands, Conor has both hands out now (likely to elicit some kind of response - physical or emotional)

As Alvarez steps forward, Conor hops back, As Alvarez tries to level change fient, Conor hops back again, Alvarez misses by a mile stepping into - and trying to come up top with a left hook-right straight. As Alvarez is vulnerable and out of position from missing, Conor comes back with a Super Saiyan 1-2 lol

This was due to Conor having given Alvarez false senses of distance through out the fight, and just scrambling his ability to ever read distance properly. Alvarez just never had a clue

That was just fucking sick. Pure fire by Conor. Conor is a real life master omega ninja who lives in the matrix!

In the gif below Alvarez gets a good shot in on Conor as Conor jabs...but again, Conor hops back, instantly gets underhooks, and pushes Alvarez up.
2yzaqys.gif

Watch how Conor has his right hand on Alvarez neck to control him and come over the top with the left, then breaks away

Conor WILL make you pay for anything - from any range and any position..

You shoot in on Conor you better complete the TD because Conor will make you pay with strikes in transition or on the breakaway

Its been demonstarted again and again, Conor is money from every range, every position. Conor can make you pay from any range and any position. We saw proof of that in the Nate fight.

Theres never been any one more flawless in all ranges then Conor. Conor is the real p4p#1. Mighty Mouse at #1 is a joke btw. He has only fought one truly elite similar sized opponent in Cruz and he was out classed by Cruz yet "pound for pound"

Below is an example of how Conor will just give you a completey different look out of no where:

iokt4i.gif

Conor decides to start moving laterally to his left, Alvarez follows, Conor then switches direction and moves laterally to his right, Conor then walks Alvarez right into a left straight. Thats legit footwork skill by Conor to walk into offence. Conor then flows from it right into an uprising jab, to step out to outside angle, to another left straight down the pipe. Another beautiful sequence by Conor!

As you can see, Conor wont allow opponents to read him or time him

Varries jab speeds, varries speeds on punches, fients, distance deception..or will just switch it up. ."ok how about now I sart to move, then when an opponent follows, bam, left lead to uprising jab to step out to outside angle to left down the pipe"

Conor controls, shows opponens what he wants - when he wants, can switch it up at any time, gives different looks, fucks with his opponents ability to read distance, and just gives them false senses of security, only to get counter fucked in a blink of an eye. Conor is again the real Neo from the Matrix

I love this one because it shows Conor's shoulder rolls:

haso94ju

Conor tucks his chin behind his lead shoulder, assumes philly stance, and turns his body in away from the punches catching Alvarez's right hands off his forearms

Conor has it all defensively and does it all defensively. Best defense in MMA by a long shot

Now we have arrived to the last exchange before the KO

Below we see Alvarez go for broke and come forward with a huge right hand into a combination attempt

6pnqg0wg

Conor attempts a counter left, they get tangled, both land...

But watch how afterwards Conor then dodges every follow up from Alvarez so effortlessly and smoothly likes hes in the Matrix

Weaves the left hook, plants and bends slipping to the outside of Alvarez's shoulder making Alvarez miss the right widly. Watch how Conor after slipping to the outside, places his right hand on Alvarez back to keep him off balanced and counter left

Matrix defense and matrix countering by Conor

Then of course, the KO happened. And we all have seen it. Just another example of how Conor is the real neo from the Matrix

In conclusion:

Alvarez came out doing everything he was prepared to do

Alvarez was clearly trying to do a Mendes, level change underneath his punches for TDs, strikes, or counter rights

Alvarez had the right idea. The problem is Conor improves dramatically

And the thing with Conor is that, Conor is even more like Floyd in that IF any thing ever works against Floyd and Conor, Floyd and Conor will instantly recongize it, patch that hole up, adjust to it, and never let it work again

Mendes had the only chance he ever had against an injuried Conor on short notice. Nate had his only chance he will ever have against Conor (in the 1st fight on short notice.) Now those holes have been patched up - in fact Conor even has turned them into strengths now

Every time Alvarez tried to step in:

"Heres a fient, now get back"

"Heres a jab, start circling toward my left"

"Heres a push kick"

"I control range and dictate when exchanges occur mother fucker"

Then Conor utilising many forms of world class boxing distance deception methods

"Let me change head slots and lean my head forward off the center line, im safe defensively, but you dont know that, im close, come get me" *then ba-bam Conor drops that smooth counter

"Ok let me step my lead foot forward to yours so that I feel closer to you, you lunge when I say, I pull to my resting back foot and drop that counter or dart back in with leads when you are out of position"

"Heres a slow left, im open, come get me," *then ba-bam Conor turns into the flash and lights you up like a christmass tree

"Oh you are not biting, thats fine, I will stay here and pump your face full of jabs, push kicks and safe set-up left leads all night. I will never give you an opening. I CONTROL when things happen. Pick your poison. Stay here and get picked apart all night, or lunge when I show/tell you to - and let the counter put you out of your misery"

Then it becomes a never ending repeating cycle, you never know the order and thats why opponents can never predict it

Conor's jabs, feints, flick jabs also served to keep Alvarez off set and continually messed with Alvarez's ability to time anything

This was just a completely evolved Super Saiyan Conor compared to the injuried Conor who fought on Mendes on short notice

When you compare the Alvarez fight to the Mendes fight IT really shows how much Conor has improved and evolved

CONOR took away and neautralized what Alvarez wanted to

Superior skill and IQ

These fighters will look great against each other. Put them up against Conor, Conor will strip them to their barebones, control, dictate, manipulate, and make them look ordinary

Conor's matrix performance over Alvarez was the most flawless performance we have ever seen in MMA at the highest level. Complete clinic and shut down of a legit prime elite opponent. Just wow. Dont take Conor for granted. We will never see anyone liie Conor in our life time. Enjoy and appreciate Conor now while we can and while we still have the oppurtunity. You dont want to look back and regret it, like the people who grew up durring Ali or Bruce Lee's time and took that for granted. Conor is a revolutionary once in human history game changer
Of mma struggle to beat slow handed, slow footed diaz?

He's not some godly striker but I agree he uses distance to counter well. WIth the Diaz fight he was exposed. Wait a year or two and other fighters will surely end his reign.

He's not on Jones' and Fedor's level.
He's not some godly striker but I agree he uses distance to counter well. WIth the Diaz fight he was exposed. Wait a year or two and other fighters will surely end his reign.

He's not on Jones' and Fedor's level.

Except Conor did ALSO utilise distance deception to counter fuck Nate

2nrzk3m.gif

Look how Conor leans his head forward off the center line to appear as a closer target and draw out a jab

This typically draws out a jab in southpaw vs southpaw engagements or orthodox vs orthodox engagements

Conor then pulls and counters

Nate was a good boxer who was far taller with far more reach, and yet Conor was still log-jamming his ability to read distance in exchanges like that

We saw Conor still out classing Nate....and still utilising distance deception methods in some exchanges to create countering oppurtunities

Again, Conor controls, limits what opponents can throw and when, and counters, no matter who it is. Conor is the ultimate counter striking puppet master

Size or reach has nothing to do with it

Conor IS the embodiment of PURE unadulterated SKILL WITH BOBBY FISCHER FIGHT IQ

Its Jones whos nothing but size and reach

Conor out classing Nate who had 25lbs on him, 4 inches of height, and 2 inches of reach, IS the greatest P4P in MMA history

At the least you have to appeciate Conor's pure next level skill and pure next level fight IQ

Meanwhile Jones fights someone whos simply close enough in size to him in Gus (who is only a decent boxer by MMA standards) and Jones gets badly beaten to a pulp lol

To say Nate "exposed" Conor, you either didnt watch the fight, or like massapiece the troll, you are a hating newb

Look at this, just another example of many, of Conor completely counter fucking Nate's soul

NHafz2v.jpg

Inside slip+parry down to over hand counter while making both of Nate's 1-2 punches MISS

Thats just INCREDIBLE!

One inside slip to make BOTH of Nate's punches miss while countering over the top

Conor is bringing a whole other galactic level of defensive based counter punching skill to MMA

Show me another MMA fighter who hits inside slip+parry to over hand counters on far bigger taller opponents while making both 1-2 punches miss

Like I told the troll massapiece,

"The UNtrained eye cant understand the brilliance of Conor"

NO ONE is on Conor's level in MMA in boxing, skill, and fight IQ

Theres a reason why I can back everything up with examples, while troll newbs like you and massapiece CANT

Lets comtinue to keep it real, Conor completely OUT CLASSED Nate...WIPED Nate out in every exchange...THOROUGHLY OUT BOXED Nate..

Conor dismantled Nate, shut down, neutralized, and made Nate look like an amature at the one thing he's known for (boxing)

Thats what Conor does to opponents, he strips them and makes them look like normal joes

UltimateMessyFugu-size_restricted.gif

As for Jones,

Jones isnt even the best boxer in his own damn weight class lol

Dont ever....ever ever...ever mention Jones with his shitty mediocre striking within even the same universe as Conor

Conor is a supreme-superior-being from another universe in every way compared to Jones

alex-gustafsson-counters-jab-with-left-hook-gif.gif

Jones getting counter raped then turning his head like a DAY ONE AMATURE

More:
gustafsson-lands-a-beatiful-left-hook-on-jon-jones-gif.gif

...Now I do believe Fedor is the GOAT with Gsp, but that was because of Fedor's grappling to striking transitions, slick ground game and brutal GnP....Fedor's striking was NO WHERE NEAR Conor's....and Fedor did demonstrate poor fight IQ often

In closing, the scariest part about deluded Conor hating newbs like you and that tool bag massapiece (who calls themself that? Hes so fucking corny) Is that you newbs are arrogant in your ignorance/delusion

Deluded Conor hating newbs like you and massapiece just speak non sense, empty words with no merit or any backing what so ever

As they say...cant be said enough

"The UNtrained eye cant understand the brilliance of Conor"
