I live in the South and the anti-Obama vitriol I heard from folks, especially in rural areas was overwhelming. I attended a wedding where the minister prayed for our government "except for Obama." I attended a charity event during a Fourth of July weekend in 2010 where there was a fund raiser for the volunteer fire department. It was a shooting contest where the target was a bullseye pinned to the chest of a manaquin wearing an Obama mask. These are admittedly anecdotal but I have many more examples from travel throughout the rural South. The hate was palpable.

They condemned it, but not enthusiastically. They pretty much had to. If the roles were reversed, there would have been a meltdown of epic proportions.

Can you link me to a major conservative outlets enthusiastic condemnation of Ted Nugent's comments? Fact is, they are both "D" list celebrities saying dumb shit. I tried to find condemnation of Nugent but could not.
