Zookeeper Gabe's Animal Thread V6.0

I love antlions. Whenever I find a trap I try and drop and ant in there. When I was younger I would dig out the larvae just to watch it rebuild it's trap.

So my parents were driving somewhere in Mississippi and passed some vultures eating some roadkill. One of them got spooked and flew right in front of them.

As far as I remember most vultures are pretty slow when it comes to actually flying right? Don't they mainly glide? Anyway, they are all over the place where I live so I guess I'll pay attention more even though I usually slow down anyway to check them out because for some reason I'm really fascinated with vultures.

Damn. Hope they have insurance. Lol

Yeah vultures spend most of the day gliding on thermals. And when they do have to take off it isn't very quick.

I've seen many vultures in my area. They creep me out.

I saw a documentary on the Mongolian death worm. I hope my zoo gets one. They probably won't though. They have a Komodo "dragon" and it's just a big lizard. It doesn't even have wings or anything. And if you go see the sea lion exhibit you're gonna be real disappointed. It's basically just a seal. No claws, no awesome mane. It doesn't even roar. Such a joke. So yeah, I'm not real optimistic about the death worm.

They really are neat, I've posted pics of the flock near my house. They can get some real speed on those currents, but they're pretty stoic taking off. My sister had her windshield busted by one too, recently. She says it took off afterwards too, which I'm not sure how that's even possible. They're a trip to watch before storms, it looks like their playing low on the winds.

I fucking love that frog! I've wanted a pixie so bad for years, it'll be the next pet I buy I think. They're so damn cool.

Working with some different animals today.
Mickey the Roo, he's ancient and has a glass eye.

And I shared my banana with out cotton top tamarin.

A ribbon worm.

Those are awesome pics dude. I love watching those.

This isn't that exciting but I found this little rough green snake while fishing today. I always see diamondback water snakes galore.

I still wanna find a rattler while I live in TX (won't pick it up tho).
