I don't follow current WMMA, never really did, not because I actively hate it but I became picky even with male fighters, so...
But back in the day I had a big crush on Jorina "Jojo" Baars
She did terrible in MMA (1-3 in the early 2010's, she later admitted that she didn't really like grappling and hoped to win before it hit the ground) but in kickboxing she was the female kickboxing P4P GOAT for a long, long time.
Apparently she's still ranked 4 or 5 P4P in the world right now
What sucks is that her 2 losses shouldn't even count. Her first one was a facepalm worthy robbery against Orinta, a split decision that Baars would later appeal and win, as the loss was overturned; but the fight remains a loss on wikipedia for some reason.
Her second loss was a 2019 war against Christina Breuer at
ONE, a split decision loss that once again had people up in arms, but it stuck. Oh well, it was a great performance by the German gal.
Anyway, Baars is cool, seen her train in Holland, one of the only girls to spar with the guys, I like that.
(I mean, not like Ronda who was "throwing with the guys" but it sounded like everyone let her win, including world class boxers who fell to her body shots)
It's a shame that WMMA is popular nowadays and Jorina Baars is allergic the grappling element of it... unless WMMA stars like Cyborg once did challenge her at her own sport, looks like she'll remain an unknown in the US
