Dana was asked about Japan last week, said it will take stars for them to go back. If Kai wins, they'll be there. He's already a well known name to the general public in Japan

I don't think a 125lb male Champ is a needle mover regardless of their nationality. It's the ufc's fault but I'm sure the MBA's have a reason for not dedicating marketing muscle on them.

I just don't see it, regardless of how many stars ever pop up. If they haven't done a soccer stadium for Conor by this point, why on earth would Africa or Japan be a priority for them?

UFC had a lot of worries and scares about running a business in Japan, so avoids Japan and even have trouble getting fighters from there as have distanced themselves from Japan too long. Their was talk about WWE buying a pro-wresting promotion there I would like to see TKO Group buy and run businesses in other countries once they have a strong base there then getting fighters or holding events there becomes common.

You would think UFC's Performance Insititute in Mexico would be a good base for more business in Mexico ... The one in China does help them but not so much outside the building as all events seem to be there inside not in other arenas in China (yes I know upcoming event in Macau, SAR, China).

It's all business decisions. If the event could make more than Vegas and Middle East, then sure. But everyone needs to remember Conor took over the whole mma world and was bringing up fighting in Ireland whenever he could, yet the UFC never made it happen.

If the UFC makes 20M in Vegas, and 15M elsewhere, then they are going to book Vegas. It's just numbers and now isn't the time to take chances.
