Television Yellowjackets - TV show

I absolutely agree with the Melanie comment. I remember her from Two and Half Men. Thought she was gorgeous.

i'm watching it and enjoying it..wasn't what I was expecting but so far so good

I never heard or seen Melaine Lynskey before. She is terribly miscast on this show. I think she is supposed to be kind of hot milf on the show and it doesn't work for me at all.

I am enjoying the show but you have to go with some past some big plot holes but that is okay.

I disagree about her role and about her being miscast. I don't think her character is supposed to be all that hot. Her high school friend Jackie was the hot one and the popular one. But she's kinda cute and has a nice rack and was secretly sleeping with her best friend's boyfriend, who's now her husband. I don't find it unbelievable that men would find her attractive and want to have affairs with her. Several guys in this thread have already posted about finding her attractive or even beautiful.

I don't find her beautiful per se, but she is the most attractive of the surviving adult women on the show. Juliette Lewis and Christina Ricci were more attractive in their primes, but Lewis is older and hasn't aged well, and Ricci hasn't aged all that well either, plus I think they try to ugly up her character anyway because she's supposed to be repellent to people. I think the premise of the show is that they're pretty average people who went through some crazy shit which changed them but they're trying to get back to their average lives and largely succeeded, but they're being brought back by the recent events that's digging up their past and affecting their present...

We all know TV is fake, but there are some things they put on TV that are just too far fetched to be be entertaining.

Like a group of modern women being able to crash land in a remote location and survive by themselves.

I've noticed it on Showtime after watching Dexter, but haven't watched it. The plot sounds interesting though and I've always liked the Lord of the Flies style stories, so I'll check it out. I usually like the stuff that Chritina Ricci and Juliet Lewis do as well.

My wife started watching this and it didn't take me long to get sucked in with her. It does a really good job of weaving complexity in to little moments. Like it will have a common trope, make you think twice about it, then wrap back around to the obvious trope but in a way that makes it feel unique and earned.

The show gives you enough to bite on so you think you know what's up, then snaps a tight twist and leaves you with plenty of questions.

I have a feeling they're going to want to drag this shit out for a looong time. The writing and the performances are solid, but poor pacing and a lack of payoff could make the show a kick in the balls. But so far it's been awesome.

Uhhh. Have you ever seen Alone? No women have won quite yet but several came in second and came damn close. Also the story of the little girl, sole survivor who fell out of a fucking plane. She was all of 12 into the Amazon jungle and survived 14 days out there and made it back to civilization when bear grylls a supposed survival expert needs to stay in a hotel out there.

Don't underestimate peoples will to survive, even women come on man. That's not even being feminist.

The women on Alone were highly trained and experienced experts who lived for years in the wilderness. They're excellent at trapping, crafting, etc.

Man or woman you would not be able to survive in that extreme wilderness if you didn't have the skill.

I haven't seen this show yet, waiting to start binging when it hits episode 9.

Well..there is some sort of other stuff that helps them out initially but I don't want to spoil it so it's hard to defend it when all people got to go off of is, "teen girls crash land in wilderness" it comes off as plausible in context of the show. It's engaging I would suggest people that are put off on the initial scenario give it a shot.

The post was more of a joke, but it's rooted in reality and the reality is the vast majority of people have zero outdoor survival skills and the overwhelming majority of the people that do, have penises.

Hiking, climbing, camping, fishing, hunting, youth outdoor groups (boys outs, cub scouts, girl scouts, etc), farming, ranching, commercial fishing, military, even just survival enthusiasts. All activities/fields dominated by men.

Yeah there are always outliers, but this one is just too big of a gender skill gap to be believable.

Even if there were a few women in the group who had survival skills. They would just be carrying around far too much dead weight to make it out alive.

Well I mean like I said earlier there is certain things they start out with to make the scenario more plausible but I don't want to spoil anything.

It works in context, I am normally weary of these scenarios too

Why didn’t missy know the girl wasn’t dead? They made her out to be a nurse expert and she couldn’t tell if someone was dead?

do we know what was in the safe? How does Shana think Adam got in it? Why doesn’t she ask to see his license? Would she really confront him at his home knowing he told her a load of shit? Would she go to a cabin with someone who told her a load of shit?

I wonder how easy it would be for attentive teen girl to have accurate gaydar based on how easy it to catch guys checking out their breasts.

is the ring they took from the dead dad going to be a clue or come up in a future episode?

The thud of the head hitting the bottom of the pool made me feel uneasy.

they have a lot to wrap up in two episodes unless the season is longer than 10 episodes.

It's indeed 10 episodes. I imagine there will be some cliffhangers...
 
The chubby woman is like a chubby Colby Smulders with assymmetrical boobs.
Her boy toy is the guy who got the glitter ransom. I would have guessed the lesbo wounded GF would have been eaten this episode.

The crash site is seeming like some mystical supernatural place like the island in Lost.
