Shauna killed an innocent guy. She had an affair with him. She was convinced husband was having an affair. He wasn't.
Still her husband wants to claim he committed the murder to the police?
I get the impression that she is broken due to her experiences in the woods - they all seem off and unable to process emotions in a healthy and "normal" way.
Out of the four survivors we see as president day adults, you have a dirt eating/tree dwelling politician, a burnt out addict who seems barely functional, a batshit crazy nurse with a kidnapped reporter in her basement, and remorseless soccer mom who has shown zero hesitation to lie to the people she supposedly cares about. The woods broke them, and I wouldn't expect them to react the way they should.
