I get the impression that she is broken due to her experiences in the woods - they all seem off and unable to process emotions in a healthy and "normal" way.

Out of the four survivors we see as president day adults, you have a dirt eating/tree dwelling politician, a burnt out addict who seems barely functional, a batshit crazy nurse with a kidnapped reporter in her basement, and remorseless soccer mom who has shown zero hesitation to lie to the people she supposedly cares about. The woods broke them, and I wouldn't expect them to react the way they should.
 
I'm almost caught up, starting episode 8 now. It isn't what I thought it would be, but I like it. Melanie Lynskey is a fantastic actor.

One issue. If they were really in the woods of Northern Ontario, they would be getting absolutely destroyed by bugs.

Season finale was as if
they need a 2nd season to continue the reveals. Seems like there's some sort of cult of the weird symbol almost like "The Others" from Lost. Coincidence or deliberate timing when they abducted old Nat?
Still so many unanswered questions. The reunion MC woman had a very attractive face. The music and some scenes were a bit scary.
 
I was really disappointed with the season finale - it was SO good until the last scene with Nat being kidnapped. It looks like they are going to move in the direction of Lottie being some sort of cult leader, and there being a conspiracy to keep the "truth" from getting out.

I was hoping they would continue with the supernatural theme, and have Taissa being possessed by some sort of forest demon (or something along those lines).

I'm really curious as to what happened with Travis' younger brother and what Misty's back story really is.
 
Not sure if I want to continue watching season 2.Not much to root for. These characters are genuine villains.They go around casually, killing various people.

I had no problem with the cannibalism,that was to survive
But now?They have Absolutely no remorse either.

Good point. I've already expressed my displeasure previously in this thread about the narrative decision to pretend that they're in Ontario even though the topography is unmistakably that of British Columbia or Washington. Nowhere else in the world looks like that.

Anyway, I liked the finale and I'm glad it's getting renewed for a second season since there are so many cliffhangers. It sucks when a good show gets canceled after the first season with cliffhangers. I recently watched Everything Sucks! and it literally ends with a HUGE cliffhanger, LOL. Also, since the show involves mainly kids, it'd be hard to pickup where they left off even if another distributor bought the rights to the show (it was originally on Netflix).

Well anyway, I'd say Yellowjackets so far is good, not great. I'm looking forward to seeing how the cliffhangers resolve and where they take it. If it ascends to true greatness or descends into mediocrity. We shall see...

I think they are continuing with it and the "discovery" scene with her newly estranged wife will lead into that...

He was missing in the season finale and they still haven't found him. I don't buy into the theory proposed earlier in this thread that he is the guy who was having an affair with Shauna. Surely they would have recognized him. I think it's just the actors who play both characters happen to share similar backgrounds (half white and half Hispanic) and share a superficial resemblance to each other. But other than that, they're not connected.

Back to the little brother, I expect that he will die in the first episode of season two. Jackie dying was the big death of the season finale and Javi dying will be the big death of the season 2 opener. Although it's not as big a death. They'll save bigger deaths for the rest of the season and especially the finale of next season...
 
I saw a few days old article saying Season 2 was approved and something about Season 1 was 2nd most streamed Showtime show.
 
I really enjoyed this show, but I wasn't a huge fan of how it's ending. I think they are trying to do too much with it honestly. My favorite shows generally have a slow burn and are really about character building (ex. The Wire, Mad Men, Sopranos). I don't really think they need much of a supernatural element in this show or crazy twists and turns. It would be interesting just following what happened in the woods as they were there for a year and a half. How does each die? Obviously they murdered at least one, so how do they choose? In present day, the mental trauma and such can just be shown with how much it affects their lives. I just see them going too far with weird twists and a possible supernatural type element which I'm not a fan of.

Whoever said Melanie Lynskey was a bad cast is nuts. In my opinion, she clearly stole the show. Her ability to blend in with society and act completely normal while then switching a switch to savage was great.
 
I friggen love this show. Can't wait for the new season, what an amazing cast - the "Froze to Death" scene was heartbreaking after their little squabble. I've seen that stuff go down. Who knew the main gal was British?
 
I saw the advertisement on youtube today. Gonna watch. The wimmen seem hot.
 
This show looks interesting to me. Not sure where to stream it though. I'm not going to pay for another service to watch it though. Already have HBO, Amazon, Netflix, and Disney. Probably have to get another month of Apple to watch season 3 of Ted Lasso soon too.
 
Shocked this show isn't discussed more here. It's literally a scarier more girl centric version of Lost. Lost was one of best shows i ever seen .......... untill last season and maybe 2nd half of 5th it fell off cliff but u till then was greatness.
YJ is just an r rated Lost. Looking forward to season 3. Hope they curb the horror shit thats not my bag but really interesting show.
