Y'all really have no clue who is Dricus du Plessis do you?

I think he was attempting to troll newbies, but not effectively because that would be the kind of fight that would attract new fans. A chess match in grappling would be lost on a true newbie.
it's a an old sherdog joke this is the second time i do it but both time i mean it and have the same energy as the Alvarez thread guy i belive it will truly look easy

Below are the current betting odds from sportsbet. You go place a huge bet then if you think that, buddy.

I can't it's against the law in Saudi

Dricus has about the ugliest fighting style I have ever seen, in any UFC Champion, and I've been watching since UFC I.

He constantly appears to be laboring for breath, like he's going to pass out at any time — and yet he just keeps going and going.

Stylistically, his punches are ugly — and yet he just lets his hands go — and he follows up and keeps going — so he is deceptively effective.

As ugly as he is to watch, he's not afraid to throw down, throws punches from weird angles, and yet appears to be exceptionally game and effective.

I don't know if I can "pay" to watch him fight this Saturday (I feel I should be paid for having to watch Izzy run, and Dricus flounder), but I think he might surprise everyone and walk right through Izzy.

We'll see.

I agree with you about his fighting style it's not pretty but I do appreciate that he just keeps going after it. I have no idea if he beats Izzy or not this weekend and frankly don't care much other than I'd rather not see Izzy be champ again. No offense to Izzy but I just don't enjoy his fights that much.

Yes, it's ugly, but it is chaotic and dangerous.

Isn't he that African guy?l@nd0

The true African warrior who shall bring the belt to the motherland?

Amazing thread, OP.

Funny seeing so many on here be completely clueless about the archived Eddie thread, lol. I'll blame you if DDP sets the record for most times dropped in a fight tho.

I've never heard of him

Dricus sounds like an std
Doctor walks in and says: "Im sorry to inform you, but you have a bad case of dricus on your penis and scrotum."

"We're going to give you some cream to put on it, and also give you an injectable antibiotics....again, im sorry to you and your penis sir." Lol

DDP has a great ability to impose his gameplan which, like pressure, is kind of hard to quantify but so important in fighting.

But fuck Izzy feels like an awful stylistic matchup for him lol.

There is a stereotype amongst Sherbros that Israel Adesanya fans by large are relatively new to the sport and do not watch much else MMA wise other than him. This point is being proven by the minute, since the announcement of his fight with Dricus du Plessis.

Y'all really never seen Dricus have you? Perhaps 1 or 2 of his fights, right?

You may have seen him lose to McLellan, his boring win over Till or even the Brunson TKO...

Sean Strickland? Robert Whittaker? Those names mean anything to you? ... Nah, I didn't think so.

Just for educational purposes, Dricus du Plessis has it fucking ALL!

- The guy has KO power in both hands.
- Crisp, technical boxing.
- Solid wrestling, with very good ability to control from the top position.
- Underrated and sneaky BJJ, takes the back very easily.
- Cardio for days, looks the same in rounds 4 and 5 as the first round.
- Heart for days. Let you knock him down or rock him, if his body lets him he'll keep coming.

WAR ALVAREZ!

Alvarez?

Anyways his cardio has been back when tested until the nose thing

Also his boxing is not crisp. Effective but not crisp

fucking guy didnt even give us any clues

- Crisp, technical boxing.

looooool, his boxing technique is very far from that.

You forgot his judo background. Which took Whitaker down in the 1st afaik.

what a bad thread

Hi Dricus. What brings to you Sherdog? Don't you have a big fight to be training for?

Y'all really have no clue which legendary Alvarez thread is this referring to?? I thought it's a hall of famer known to every sherbro around the world

DDP by submission was always the most likely outcome. Izzy has never actually been tested by a competent grappler. This was the first time and it's clear that he is not comfortable off his back at all.

Chael or Maia would have submitted him within a round.

Unfortunately Sherdog has been infested with casuals who are easily enchanted by strikers.
