International Wyoming Is Rare Earth

I remember driving through Wyoming and thinking everything was scrub land. It was all tumble weeds blowing in the wind.

After seeing some videos on a few of the towns though, seems to have some attractive areas. Seems like it would be a nice place to live.

lol... Dude, western Wyoming and the Tetons are unreal. Hiked several hours to see a glacier valley. First time I've seen that big a U shaped valley instead of V shaped.

It was so remote, there were several missing persons signs at the trailhead. There was a lady handing out flyers... her husband had gone missing and his dog had returned without him. He'd been missing for 2+ weeks.

I grew up in Colorado and I never really felt I like I was that far from some sort of civilization there.

In the Tetons, it seemed that if I had an accident or fell... there was a good chance I'd never be found. My brother lived in Alaska for several years and he said Alaska was the only place more remote than Wyoming. Maybe Idaho...

That's Montana... Where the wannabe cowboy yuppies now live

lol... jk
Wait so it wasn’t actually in Yellowstone? !
Definitely a wannabe cowboy/ranger boom since then

Montana has some epic landscapes I remember from the movie Legends of the Falls

Yellowstone park crosses two states Montana and Wyoming.

Weirdly i was reading a book where it said china has 38 percent of rare earth elements, russia has 10 and states have 1 just as this thread came up

I dont know what to believe lol
- I use to have a biology book that claimed the biggest spider was 20 cms, and a bigger spider cond't exist, because the blood wondt flow to his entire body.

Till i discovered the Bird eater aka Goliath tatarantula with 30 cms.

Now yet another can be added to the list as it continues to re-position itself for complete self-sufficiency and 21st-century dominance.

- Theres no self suficienct contry!

If you're into women that wear hoodies and have hair like David Cassidy.
Get at it.

it's bad because they could suddenly curtail the supply and we would be fucked.

Yup.
Sounds like Wyoming needs some Freedom!

Oh, wait...
They are free, but need to be freer.

Wyoming needs to be drilled by the long dick of Uncle Sam

Wyoming needs zero incentive to mine natural resources. If anything, the fed is an impediment.

- Theres no self suficienct contry!

Or about as close you can get. As it stands, the United States is the 191st (out of 193) most dependent country on global trade, and its percentage of GDP could still be a lot lower.
Self-sufficiency? Huh?
Huh?

{<jimmies}
lol....

Dude, Yellowstone Park is in both Wyoming and Montana

Only 3% of the park's official boundaries are in Montana, but a big chunk of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem is there. It makes their policies on wildlife like bison, grizzlies, and gray wolves (basically "kill them all") a pain in the ass though. Montana is a threat to hard fought and massively successful conservation efforts. I'm not spending a dime in Montana for the time being, I prefer Grand Teton over Glacier anyway.

If wisely exploited, this find—estimated to be the richest in the world—will give the U.S. an unparalleled economic and geopolitical edge against China and Russia for the foreseeable future.
I'm all for conservation, but if this statement is true, can we really afford not to explore this option?

It's a little sensationalist. The advantage the US holds is already unparalleled, regardless of what the anti-American propagandists and other delusional motherfuckers on this forum think. I was just in the mood to create a thread about Wyoming. OTOH, it is true that 95% of global REE production comes from China and that the USA is entirely dependent on the whims of Beijing for the raw materials. It doesn't have to be.

Definitely a hyperbolic statement, but it does sound like this material is quite valuable. We all would love to maintain the natural order of this planet forever but the fact is we make these trades everyday so hopefully a reasonable discussion about this will be had...

...yeah right.
