Was there live. Didn't follow any of the storylines going in. Very uneducated post here:

Was a fairly enjoyable event. AEW Wrestledream last month was quite a bit more entertaining thing to watch from a pure watching experience, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

The two wargames matches were good. Than bron breaker was a good wrestler to, cool seeing Steiners kid.

Knights vs Nakamura was not great.

Gunther vs Priest was crap for the first while then got better.

6.75/10

Dude did the “Edge: Think I’mma just half ass land on my feet from the top of a cage” move.

It looked like he did that because Phil was late pulling Roman off the table. It was an important spot in the match, looks like he didnt want to botch it but now he's hurt.

That's what I thought when it happened. Hope it isn't too bad.

Jimmy has a broken toe per the press conference.

Pretty sure Jacob fucked his leg up again.

Wouldn't be surprised if Punk is hurt the way he was holding his elbow after the match.

It's kind of funny how the original War Games matches looked way more brutal, and yet nobody seemed to ever really get hurt in them.

Can't help but agree with this opinion.

Was thinking when Tiffany pulled out the MITB briefcase that'd be an amazing twist for her to mistakenly use it in Wargames it'd turn the entire match into for either/both of the women's titles being up for grabs.

Instead, the MITB is continuing to be a running joke for the women's division.

First time watching War Games, why isn't elimination like the traditional Survivor Series matches?

Just a different match type. The first WarGames happened in JCP in 1987 a few months before the first Survivor Series. WarGames was a JCP/WCW thing until WWE brought it back a few years ago.

It'd be better if it was elimination.

Now I want a Roman turn

In the lead-up to the event, I was thinking that'd be a hell of a twist.

Roman becoming the leader on the 'new bloodline,' betraying the original bloodline, and restarting his heel run.

But I'm still thinking they're planning on Roman being the babyface against heel-Rock in the near future... or if Cody turns heel.

So many options for the future.

It'd be better if it was elimination.

I disagree. It would be a convoluted mess if they added eliminations. There's already a lot going on with the staggered entrances and team advantage before the match even officially starts. Would look extra goofy if you finally get everyone in there after they came in one by one, then start eliminating them one by one. Would also kill one of the main rules about a team forfeiting if someone leaves.

It wouldn't be WarGames at that point.

Keep the 'No Eliminations Until All 10 Men Are In The Cage' rule.

And the rule about no one leaving can be adjusted to 'No Leaves Until They're Eliminated.' But I don't see how that rule is significant.
Why would someone leave causing their team to lose?

In other words, I'm betting they can pull it off. It'd be a 5v5 Elimination Chambler.

Then they can make a new show and call it Team Elimination Chamber.

The whole point of WarGames is two teams fist fighting in a cage to settle a beef. Having people eliminated one by one kills the entire point.

The rule about no one leaving or their team loses is for heels. WarGames started in the 80's, heels would do "cowardly" shit to get heat from crowds, this rule made it so they couldn't be cowards and run out of the cage.
