and what were the numbers before mao's revolution? lol mao's policies made lifespans and literacy rates skyrocket, and vastly improved the level of poverty in china. yes, the decision to switch from state communism to mostly-state-capitalism has proven fruitful in trade, but raising the value of the yuan and the cost of living (the two biggest factors of that graph) doesn't inherently mean what the graph suggests.

Deng Xiaoping was the one that really brought China to where it is today. Yeah USA is becoming a failed state. Heard Trump is trying to get rid of climate change websites and at least China is acknowledging that problem.

Im no Chinese historian, but like anything it was likely an accumulation of efforts.

I lived in China for nearly a decade. I never said it was a utopia but I have noticed clearer skies by the time I left. Also, China is a larger country than the USA (if we don't include bodies of water) so just naming one city makes you look incredibly ignorant but then again most of MAGA can't name more than a handful of countries outside the USA so not surprised there.
