Wrestling gets you in better shape than BJJ/Judo

The terms "in shape" and "Fit" are thrown around too loosely here. everyona has their own definition.

Why, because you can't find me a video on youtube that is near the level of action and physical strain shown by the videos i posted?

Don't give me this btw stuff as if wrestling has nothing to do with a wrestlers strength, as if it is just a coincidence. All wrestlers must just lift more weights? You see Nate Diaz? He wouldn't win one match with his strength levels against a d1 wrestler. Not one. He's slick at what he does, but wrestling is much more strength and the ability to maintain those strength level based.

I didn't even watch your videos, dumbass. I don't care what a video shows. But why don't you look up Jacare, Rick Macauley, Xande Riberio, Wilson Reis, Margarida, Andre Galvao, Rickson in his prime, Rob Kahn, Justin Chim Chim Garcia, Brian Mclaughlin, my instructor Bobby Palumbi, Rick Migliarese, and many others.

Sean Sherk(even minus the roids) Rashad Evans.

...full of.....MOSTLY WRESTLERS! Coincidence? No. It's not a jj guys style to do this stuff. Hence, they don't develop this power. Helio Gracie...weak as hell. Royce, weak as hell. They wanted to prove that a weaker but technically sound man could beat a stronger man. That was the whole point. You can pull guard in JJ. You can't in wrestling. There is no alternative, you have to fight for the takedown.

Still doesn't make up for it.

Also you can reach very high levels of success in BJJ without reaching the high levels of strength & conditioning a wrestler of the same level might have.

But a high level wrestler will always have both regardless, because its impossible to achieve that level without them.

Are you serious? You dont think the MASSIVE difference in # of competitors has no bearing? Judo has guys JUST as conditioned and JUST as strong, and oddly enough has as many people training for competition worldwide. Coincidence? I think not.

Here's me beating a state champ wrestler in a competition.

And I see people slamming all the time who aren't wrestlers. You're a willfully ignorant tool.

So, the videos i found to show you my point you didn't even view, but i'm a dumbass and should go find for myself what you just wrote to me? LOL.

Do yourself a favor and watch my videos so you know what you're arguing against.

YouTube - Jacare vs Werdum in BJJ

jacare vs. Werdum. Is this good?

For example, look at 3:45 to 4:15. Practically no physical strain is being put forth by (Werdum?) on the bottom. You CAN'T get away with that in wrestling. YOU CAN'T! It would be over!

The whole point of JJ is to have success without strength, it was designed for it! Wrestling was NOT!

Oh, if you think I don't train hard, well you're welcome to try one of my competition practices and tell me they suck.

video isn't working, i'm sure it's a jj match though, SO WHAT DOES THAT PROVE? NOTHING!

Now i'm going to go through the vid, and we'll see who was doing the most slamming.

The whole point of JJ is to have success without strength, it was designed for it! Wrestling was NOT!

The point of JJ is to have maximum leverage with minimum effort. The point is not to use no strength, but to use your strength most effectively!

BJJ is based on judo. Kano, the founder of judo, said:

Suppose for instance, my opponent takes hold of my right wrist and I do not resist him, then there is no means of releasing it from his hold. The best way would be to move my arm so that my whole strength is used to counteract his hand grip, the strength which is of course far inferior to my concentrated strength and therefore gives way to it. In such a case I used my strength against his, contrary to the principle of nonresistance.

Again my opponent grips me from behind. I cannot release myself by nonresistance and must either throw him, using the strength of my body to break his grip, or slide down obliquely, releasing myself and releasing his grip at the same time. These examples serve to show that the principle of nonresistance is not applicable in all cases.

This is the same principle in Olympic wrestling, BTW, as Brandon Slay wrote:

Some might say, “But, Brandon, you have to be intense,” and I would agree with you. Intensity is extremely important, but “Relaxed Intensity” is what a wrestler should ultimately strive for. To accomplish “Relaxed Intensity,” a wrestler needs to set goals with his coach, work intelligently each day towards achieving those goals in practice, visualize the thrill of victory and when the moment of truth arrives — relax and simply execute all you have worked so hard for in practice. This is certainly not something that comes naturally. My teammates in college at Penn used to tell me all the time how tight I was when I drilled. When you drill or wrestle with someone who is very tight, it’s hard for you to stay relaxed which becomes frustrating. Plus, when someone is too tight you can always tell when he is going to move or attack because they have to relax before they move. Having the ability to snap into action and be very explosive is the product of being relaxed, not tight. Don’t get me wrong; I didn’t solve my problem of being too tight overnight. I had to concentrate on relaxing in each and every practice and in each and every match, which lead to higher levels of energy and explosiveness.

Maybe you'll show some more of your ignorance.

So, the videos i found to show you my point you didn't even view,

State champ wrestlers have too much unparalleled strength and conditioning to be viewed on a normal computer.

Then what will prove it to you? A BJJer in a wrestling match? I didn't know you can tell how much someone is straining in a video. What a keyboard warrior you are.

Exactly what I said and he didn't respond.

BJJer in a wrestling match won't prove anything on this thread.

We need something completely retarded to settle this. How about a bear versus a shark in an MMA match?

I think the bear has the advantage in the cage due to the rules against biting, but the shark could probably take him on the street.

Please discuss.

Exactly.

It translates to their strength levels. Of course you need some strength. You can't move if you aren't using that, can you?

Wrestling is more strength based. Results are seen in the practitioners of both sports. Continue to deny it.

The whole argument of BJJ having needing more technique is BS as well. Wrestling has just as much technique, you just need more strength to apply it.

So Brandon Slay, an Olympic gold medalist, is wrong? Just because you say so doesn't make it so. I actually train: I don't care about watching videos. I don't memorize MMA trivia like you seem to like to do. What a nerd.
