god damn it. if they can't have dueling the least they can do is bring back trial by combat. humanity is already going in reverse so why the hell not? every time they put a politician on trial i'd order the fight card on pay per view. nothing like watching a public execution over some breakfast to get my morning going.

actually now that i read the article, it turns out their form of dueling is actually just throwing fists. japan is fucked up. they sell used panties in street corner vending machines, they pioneered martial arts, but fisticuffs and fight clubs are prohibited on the street.

alright, can they at least meet in the middle and allow dueling with swords? at least that would add a bit of japanese culture to the mix, and i wouldn't have to go to sketchy websites just to see a good beheading.

Is it not sufficient the loser of the fight died from his injuries?


Completely aside, Kabukicho is the one place in all of Japan you need to constantly keep your eyes open and your mouth shut unless it's to say, "Sumimasen." Especially if you're gaijin.

True story:

While on one visit to Japan, my brother-in-law was in a band and playing at this tiny hole-in-the-wall bar there so we went to see him. When we went in, my wife went off to talk to her brother, and I went to the bar to order a beer. The glass came half full. My wife did the beer ordering after that; the glass was full every time and the dirty looks stopped.

Long story short: Kabukicho is an incredible place, but if you go there, you'll want to have a Japanese companion to help keep you out of trouble.
