Unpopular opinion: MMA is still nothing more than a set of rules, so that I do not even see the MMA vs boxing angle.

MMA is still guys from various specialisations that compete within a certain set of rules. Look at this w e main event. It could almost have been a muay thai fight in ONE FC because both apanyents are strikers to start with.
Then, oftentimes we have wrestlers that don't srrike so much outside of punches and that are either GnP artists or look for sub on the ground.

That is why MMA cannot be seen as a "club of people doing the same sport". It's a venue for specialists to show their skills.

We are not that far away from UFC 10, with the exception that we now have proficient striking specialists, whereas all striking specialists back then were TMA bums.

What…does…that…matter? Who…cares? What does your anecdotal experience with aging have to do with what we’re talking about here? Tyron was on the p4p lists two years ago. Two years! He almost knocked out Luque 5 months ago. Did aging by 5 months take his skills and athleticism down below baseline? Is he crippled or something? Did he have a stroke in that short time frame? If not, then the point you keep attempting to drive home is totally irrelevant. In reality, we both agree: MMA striking is garbage.
