Media Wonderboy Didn't Get His Show Money

They should. WB could have made more money taking the fight. It was an easy fight for him.. no grappling and Periera is wild opening up the counters WB loves . Regardless of the 3 pound difference WB had a clear advantage in skill. Not taking the fight only fucked himself out of money and the UFC will now be reluctant to give him anything he wants.

Of this was title fight or a title eliminator I wpuld totally understand. This was just a fun fight for fans nothing on line. WB refusing the fight just hurt him as he would get a chunk of the opponents show money and now ufc will be cautious to book him in any ppv main card in future and IMO he never sees another main ppv card as a result.

Yea I mostly agree. We weren’t privy to the discussions behind the scenes so it’s hard to say for sure, but this seems like a spot in his career where taking the deal might have made sense. There aren’t that many good matchups for WB in the division and there isn’t a ton of time left in his career. But let’s see what happens I guess.

I remember the same thing happened to Jim Miller. Miller agreed to a fight on short notice, made weight, then his opponent wasn't medically cleared to compete after weigh-ins and the fight was canceled. Miller didn't get his show money.

Hopefully this is not the case. Contracts?

I don't blame WB for not taking the fight after his opponent's weight miss.

I also don't blame UFC for not paying WB his show money. But, I do think UFC should throw him a bone in some way as a gesture. Maybe that is a confidential bonus or some other compensation.

But I also agree that if you give an inch, there will be fighters that take a mile on this topic.

If they're not gonna pay him show money at least get him a fight soon to make up for it

doesnt matter what that cheating fat bum chose to. he wasnt FIT to fight.
your last sentence says it all - you dislike WB and your opinion is based solely on that.

Huh? Clearly arguing with a complete moron. Never said I dislike wonderboy. I love wonderboy, he's always been a fantastic advocate for the sport. He's cherry picking fights now past his prime and holding up a division, he loses sympathy when not chosing to fight a cherry picked striker over a few points.

All of your takes and opinions are fucking brutal. Terrible poster.

It’s not about rewarding MP, it’s about performing for the fans and the company. WB chose not to do that. I don’t hold it against him, but you can’t have your cake and eat it too.
You are having some trouble with Google Translate again south American mate. Plus, you don´t look very smart either. Cheers

that's fucked up. this only makes the ufc look bad.

This perfectly sums it up. I never begrudge a fighter for not taking a fight when someone misses weight.

However, he didn’t fight so I’m not saying the ufc has to pay him either. Even if I feel the ethical thing would be to pay him something.

Institute stricter pay cuts/fines/etc. for guys that miss weight (50 percent to opponent for example), and I think it would help solve the problem. Easier said than done and I know it wouldn’t be that simple.
