Media Wonderboy Didn't Get His Show Money

@Prince Nephilim you been in this thread yet? Last night you were certain Dana and the UFC would never do a fighter dirty, as though it was your first day watching the sport

people shitting on WB for this are fucking repulsive.

Expecting him to get paid in any sort of way is also repulsive. His choice to not fight, fine. Also his choice to not receive compensation.

Still is better than your idea, which completley ignores that if people who come to the area, see a guy get in the cage and they send his ass back for not making weight, people would fuckin riot.
HHJ feeling like a real shit apologist today. Yeah, show must go on, so it doesn't matter whose fault it WAS, only whose fault we can make it in the end.

People not making weight aren't showing up to work. They get sent home and people should riot.. them

He could have fought and gotten a decent portion of opponents purse. He chose to not fight . No issue with no money but I think he should have gotten part of his show money to cover training costs as he made weight.

Well why would he? 3 lbs in a 4 th fight from a main event and he refuses and he’s 40. The company giving him matchups per his request. And he doesn’t do it.

A dr stopped his cut. Pereira is in bad shape. And Thompson says no. keep in mind thimpson chose the fight. Would have got damn near double his money. And says no.

So bame all the time top fighters say no to this.
Shit Floyd mayweather missed weight against marquez.

Yea I have mixed feelings for the reason you stated. The promotion needs to put on fights.

If fighters had the option to skip fight night, get paid anyway, and turn around and fight again in a month or two, no one would ever agree to fight someone who came in a little over.

Wonderboy took the extra money to fight Till once and made several comments implying that Till being heavy contributed to his loss. I’m sure that was on his mind.

But unlike the Till fight, this fight was not make or break for a title shot. In fact, the UFC was accommodating WB’s request to have fun fights against other strikers. They worked with him on the matchmaking, so I don’t think it’s crazy for them to ask him to work with them on getting this fight over the line. I would be surprised if he wasn’t offered extra money. It’s WB’s choice to say no, but if that’s the case I don’t think think the company should necessarily feel obligated to pay him anyway.

only one person chose not to fight, and it was the one who didnt make weight. expecting WB to reward him for being an unprofessional bum is ridiculous.

Yea agents should probably try to get that in the contracts if they haven’t already.

Then fatties will start getting just desserts and the UFC might actually punish cheaters when it costs then money
For sure there are people who miss weight intentionally for an advantage but there are cases where a fighter just has a bad cut and overestimated themselves. Not sure a punishment is always in order but in this case 4 lbs is a lot. I do think fighters who make weight should get their show money no doubt but I can see why UFC isn't doing it.

It’s not about rewarding MP, it’s about performing for the fans and the company. WB chose not to do that. I don’t hold it against him, but you can’t have your cake and eat it too.

Huh? Now you're just wrong.
Wonderboy made a choice to not fight.
The weight bully chose to not make weight, and be unprofessional, be he still chose to fight.

Your take is retarded.

Both made decisions, and both have consequences.

In the end of the day, both of their consequences result in not making a dime.

I'd have a lot more sympathy if he wasn't trying to cherry pick opponents worse than anyone currently on the roster.

Believe you have to fight to get paid, its always been that way. UFC would just take care of guys sometimes back in the Zuffa days.

But I believe its always been that way, making weight doesnt secure your pay, stepping into the cage does.

They should. WB could have made more money taking the fight. It was an easy fight for him.. no grappling and Periera is wild opening up the counters WB loves . Regardless of the 3 pound difference WB had a clear advantage in skill. Not taking the fight only fucked himself out of money and the UFC will now be reluctant to give him anything he wants.

Of this was title fight or a title eliminator I wpuld totally understand. This was just a fun fight for fans nothing on line. WB refusing the fight just hurt him as he would get a chunk of the opponents show money and now ufc will be cautious to book him in any ppv main card in future and IMO he never sees another main ppv card as a result.

performing for the fans? talk about entitlement. he doesnt owe fans shit. it is his and his family's livelihood.

cake? you consider him being robbed of a fair fight as some kind of a cake? you're delusional.

You’re just whining and ranting.

Life and business are messy. No, it’s not “fair” that MP blew his weight cut and deprived WB of a fight under ideal, agreed upon circumstances. That’s life though, shit happens.

I don’t begrudge his decision to not fight. That’s fine. But I also don’t judge the company too harshly for doing what they have to do to make sure that the show can go on.

doesnt matter what that cheating fat bum chose to. he wasnt FIT to fight.
your last sentence says it all - you dislike WB and your opinion is based solely on that.
