I kind of regret bringing up the PTSD angle. I'm sure somebody else would have but now it's become an excuse of sorts for the brainless.
If he did have PTSD and was cleared for active duty without proper assessment or treatment, then the department still holds responsibility on a large level here.
I don't think this sees court at all unfortunately, but if it does they will lean into the PTSD as an attempted excuse. Sad stuff.
I don't think they can really lean on that. They'd have to justify why they put the guy in the same situation he got PTSD from while he's still suffering from PTSD.
I have no idea how that one could be explained.
