Will Trump be a one term president?

Pence is apparently preparing to run in 2020, and unless the Dems can find a popular candidate he might just win. He's carefully distanced himself from Trump so far, so his party can still back him when he runs.

I still think Trump won't survive though, and it looks like Pence agrees.

Trump will win reelection as long as he keeps fulfilling his promises. Trump got elected because of his common sense views on issues people care about like immigration and trade. The out of touch left pushes weird shit like tranny rights, which no one gives a shit about. All the left does is call people with opposing views racist, but they have overplayed their hand and lost all credibility now. No one gives a shit if they are labelled racist by the radical racist left because its lost all meaning. They couldn't take down Trump and his supporters with that tired tactic and that's why they are acting more insane than ever.

Depends on who the Dems run obviously, but unless they find themselves a young, chariasmatic unknown like Obama was, Trump will win. But if they trout out another decaying, bloated career swamp monster, Trump wins again. Hell, knowing the DNC, they will probably run Debbie Wasserman-Schultz.

Trump is going to be a two term president .. the left's batshit reaction and ongoing hysteria will assure that .. you guys just keep reinforcing over and over why trump was voted into office

Lunatic who just couldn't help himself... Kind of like Trump.

Anyway, I think Trump will force dems and independents (and even moderate republicans) to vote for someone other than Trump. I think he will get primary'd and not even get support from the Republican National Committee. If they Dems put up someone people can actually relate to and not someone like Hillary Clinton they should really win no problem.

If he DOES win a 2nd term than there may not be any hope for this country.

I don't know that any specific person has made this contradiction, but it's surprising to me how often education is derided here outside of STEM; that caveat doesn't seem to cover statisticians, however, who according to some are just a bunch of left-leaning loonies.

I'm a swing Trump voter who is open to voting against him - I.e. The type of voter who the election will hinge upon. My perspective is that it entirely depends on who the democrats put up against him. While I think Tulsi Gabbard is probably too young, if the Dems nominated someone like her I would vote for them. If the nomination goes to someone who panders to ID politics then I'll vote Trump again. Unfortunately I don't believe it's possible for a modern democrat to win that party's nomination without playing identity game.

And here we have another lunatic lol...

At this point, I give Trump a 70% chance of re-election assuming he runs again and makes it to election day---hence my bet with @rj144.

Politically, he has squandered multiple opportunities to become an unstoppable force. In particular, he could have worked with Democrats right out of the gate to secure single-payer legislation. Although his base would not support him on that issue, immigration/trade/SCOTUS plus the reality show demagoguery would be more than enough to keep them in line.

Feed the Left exactly what they want on their #1 issue and expect them to be much less interested in your replacement. In such a scenario, even a Sanders-like candidate with Obama-level suave would lose to Trump in 2020.

The guy we're talking about is a grifter who doesn't know or care about policy, has horrible organization skills, and is generally clueless and getting played by people around him. I think he could be convinced to sign single-payer legislation if it came to his desk (he could be convinced to sign anything), but there's no way he could put a coalition or the legislation together to get it there. For fuck's sake, he couldn't even get a decent infrastructure bill on the table, and that's something that has huge bipartisan support that he talked about wanting. A hypothetical Trump who doesn't have the weaknesses the real one has would be extremely popular and could guarantee a second term.

Being the incumbent is a huge advantage, and having a decent economy is a big advantage. So it's certainly possible that he could win again (plus, your assumption rules out a lot of the worst-case scenarios).

I dont think he can get re-elected. The media has waged an all out war to destroy his image, and people eat it up like candy.

Anderson Cooper's crybaby rant after the charloetsville speech was one of the most ridiculous things ive ever seen.
americans are so brainwashed and confused they almost voted for hilary clinton.

I pretty much agree with your analysis, although I see him as slightly less incompetent than you do.

Are we sure he wants to run again.

How is this even a question? Guy is running campaign rallies nearly a year after his election victory. Do people think he's doing that shit for kicks? Keeping the base strong for Mike Pence?

Not attacking you, but I just hear this all the time from both sides(he might not want to run), and I really have no idea how people come to that conclusion. He is in this until he dies. He'll probably try to find some loophole to run for a third term, if he gets there.

Were you watching the pre-election coverage? The media hasn't changed much, which is one of the reasons he'll win again. People rejected the media's agenda before Trump was elected, and their incessant whining afterwords does them no favors. Don't be fooled by the echo chamber outlets. They're not fooling anyone.

If that was the case, Hillary would've crushed him Reagan/Mondale styles.

I would prefer discussion not based on bias but, Trumps chances of reelection, from an objective perspective.

In my opinion Trump will need a miracle to get reelected. It would only take a few percentage points of his more moderate voting bloc to swing or abstain, which I think is very likely, and he'll lose.

what's he accomplished? no major laws.

a couple of them, im actually pulling for him. but they arent looking likely.

No, he is right... Trump was elected so clearly there is no faith in the American people. I mean we elected a blowhard buffoon with no command of his inner circle (11 people gone before 1 year), he has no command of the issues (see everything) and he can't even hold a press conference in front of the American people (So far 1) because he will get absolutely demolished. He still doesn't know the issues and is an absolute charlatan and it shows,

In other words he is an absolute joke and only the most uninformed among us still support him. I mean his rallies don't exactly shout educated American

Maybe a half a term president... he is going to make some kind of scumbag move in this russia investigation and it will force congress' hand to begin impeachment and republicans will no longer see him as a viable ally... his "base" of deplorables will dwindle
