Easily two term. The Dems have no strategy, other than to scream "racism", and pray that Daddy Mueller finds something to impeach him on(which he won't).

They have put forth NOTHING in terms of taking on Donald Trump in 2020. Gonna take more than constant whining to dethrone him.

Also, I wouldn't hang your hat on his approval rating. The 35% or so who support him are likely actual voters, who will vote for him. His base is as passionate as it gets. Now think about that, and realize that just a shade over 50% of Americans actually vote. Unless something drastically changes, he's about where he was with general population, when he won the damn thing against a franchise player.

I agree on the Trump voters. I think the Dems may see better turnout as a reaction to Trump. I would love to see poll asking Bernie supporters who either wrote his name in or sat out the election whether they in retrospect wish they had voted for Hillary. I know one Bernie guy who sat out be used he assumed Hillary would will but now wishes he had voted for Hillary, but I don't know how common that is.

That's a hugely powerful propaganda strategy though. Hillary just wasn't able to harness it. The world's whitest woman who is only a candidate because she was married to a former president could only rant so much about death to whitey and end privilege etc before people burst out laughing.

If they can find a candidate compatible with their racial strategy they will experience great success and get away with frightening things.

Well, lets see.

If the economy holds, or improves, he has a decent shot of staying in.

If we are at war, and the economy holds, he has a decent shot.

Beyond that? Not really.

So many of the things he ran on in the first election will not work now. He now has a record of political statements and acts that will continue for the next few years. He will have failures and successes to judge him by. He will not really be able to run as an outsider anymore, and I can guarantee at least one republican will run against him in the primaries (if his position has not improved) as an outsider candidate. He also will not get the benefit of the doubt anymore. A lot of independents and more centrist republicans voted for him because he was the evil they did not know. That benefit is gone now.

So he has a lot of things that will not work for him anymore, and maybe a couple of things he can use in his favor.

Of course the Dems could run Nancy Pelosi and then it probably wouldn't matter, so who the fuck knows. It has only been 8 months, give it another year.

Being among the 10 or so most culturally left-leaning countries in the world makes you far left. There are nearly 200 recognized countries in the world and the US is only marginally "right" of Sweden, France, Canada, UK, and a couple of other post-peak countries where extreme regression/nihilism has set in. As "nations", every country on that list is slated for non-existence by the end of the century. Quite the company to keep.

I don't understand if the China part is a joke or not. Modern China is overtly nationalist, mixed econ and would be classified as a fascist/Nazi or similar state if they were westerners.

Actually the majority of polls are off according to Dick Morris ( YouTube it). Apolitical polling outside MSM says hes never been lower than 42 % , currently at 48% I believe

I would prefer discussion not based on bias but, Trumps chances of reelection, from an objective perspective.

In my opinion Trump will need a miracle to get reelected. It would only take a few percentage points of his more moderate voting bloc to swing or abstain, which I think is very likely, and he'll lose.

Here's an odd take I've been mulling over.


If the economy does great over the next 4 years, Trump may not seek a second term. If he can get out while it looks good, he goes down in the history books as successful, and can use any number of reasons to not run again, age, health, unity, etc.

Have this sort of thing happened in the US presidential history where a president refused to run a 2nd term? I am curious.
