Truth is, none of us really know who they actually are behind the scenes

its the fucking entertainment industry man.

People do what they can to sell themselves, their brand, promote fights, make money and achieve success In whatever way possible. Why would I hate on them for that? Play the game. That's what you do.

Why would I act like that's how their real personality Is when by all accounts, It's probably just an illusion. Same can be said for Ronda, Conor, Floyd, Ali and any number of prominent figures both In combat sports and outside of It.

How do you know what is real? Do you know her personally?

The difference between Chael/Conor/Floyd is that they own their act, while Ronda covered her face and hid in a pillow after her downfall. Guess she wasn't such a bad bitch after all. You saying the pillow and suicide thoughts on Ellen were all an act also? Makes sense, since her role model to little girls thing seemed to be an act also.

When Ronda was at her peak of appearing to be invincible, I enjoyed watching her fight. Personally, I enjoyed watching her lose because of the level of attention she was given for establishing WMMA, as if she was the first women's fighter to compete. She acted as if it was a foregone conclusion that she would never lose. Now look at her, goes on talk shows, using the fame she was given from fighting, and won't even talk about it. That's the only reason we even know who she is. Now that she no longer fights, no one cares who she is. I'll tell you what she's not, the next big movie star.

Well, obviously It's a matter of making that distinction between what Is real and fake. I don't think that's a level of discernment common In this community. I will say that, the life of a superstar Is not a joke. Handling that type of media, pressure, being followed everywhere you go, not having any privacy, not being able to be a normal human being, always being hounded by fans, always being shit talked. It's not an easy life and some handle It better than others. Not just speaking on Rousey but In general. A lot of the haters don't really see the bigger picture In that sense.

Everyone has their own way of playing that game. Ronda was In that character all the time. In a lot of ways, that's what made her so popular. Conor Is popular for different reasons.

She's even said It herself, she's trying to play the villain. She wants to be a heel. Same thing Chael was trying to do throughout his career except Ronda pulled it off far more convincingly.

Let's break that down.

The "no-handshake" thing was messed up, I agree. I didn't like that, I don't know anyone who really liked that. They had some kind of a problem that was apparently legitimetely personal and she reacted in a way that was no good imo. So there's that one.

Things that Joe Rogan and Edmund said about her: you can't really put that on her. Rogan and Edmund are responsible for the things they say, and Ronda has little to no control over that.

Thinking she can beat everyone in the division with one hand: That's the kind of talk you're hearing from virtually every name fighter who's trying to market themselves, and her trash talk was pretty tame actually. Nothing in there about raping villages or anything, eating children, bouncing people's heads off the canvas. None of that.

It's pretty clear this is a woman thing. There's really no other reason for the level of venom she's received that's logical or warranted. There's something about a particularly successful WMMA fighter that makes people react even more strongly than male MMA fighters. Not that I think I'm saying anything groundbreaking here, but just the fact that people continue this grudge against her surprises me.
