I'm not sure if it's hated as much as fans just didn't like the hype etc

I like her, but when Zuma promoted her up to be the next Fefor emelianenko, or Gsp, Hughes, comparing her to the GREATS etc, I just couldn't buy it and lost respect. she was a one trick only who utilized her discipline better than most and eventually got caught up with people who had great TDD and can stand up and fight on the feet better
But I think she's sexy as hell and was a good fighter who wasn't well rounded enough to go on a huge run,

Ok let's have a revisionist history.

There's the whole controversial Ronda ducking Cyborg, she fought at 145, then dropped down to 135, and refused to fight again at 145lbs because of cyborg.

That really is revisionist history.

She was 4-0 when she dropped to 135 and when Cyborg wanted a shot at her. She had already started the drop to 135 when Cyborg asked for her (Dec 2011), another in a long line of smaller, less experienced fighters that Cyborg wanted to test herself against. She never went back to 145 because she won the 135 title while Cyborg was suspended and by the time Cyborg was off suspension there was no 145 in StrikeForce and no plans for 145 in the UFC because it was a long-running anaemic division. Cyborg killed 145 in SF by testing positive at the end of Dec 2011. Honestly by most people's logic, Cyborg is ducking Budd more than Rowdy was ever ducking Cyborg, since at least Budd and Cyborg are in the same division, even if in two different organizations.

There's a lot to dislike about Rousey's later UFC persona and subsequent disappearing act, but the Cyborg drama and storyline is more unflattering to Cyborg than it is to Rousey.

There are so many reasons one would most likely miss a few outlining them for you.
1. She was a bitch on TUF
2. She made claims of being able to beat men from Mayweather to Cain, from most of the guys at 155 or below
3. She was a sore Winner!
4. She was a sore loser!
5. She literally went after every woman she could verbally including Arianni!
6. She was the single most arrogant person in the UFC
7. When she lost she disappeared completely hiding, this after wondering while people wanted to pile it on her for losing.
8. Her Coach was an idiot!
9. She had no issue announcing to the world how she made womans MMA
10. Rogan made ridiculous claims about her abilities
11. Dana made ridiculous claims about her abilities
12 She was treated as she was the best fighter on the planet, but anyone who had a clue new she was limited in her skill set. She was the best during a time in MMA when woman were not the great!
13. A lot of people hate woman's MMA, if not hate they certainly don't care for the amount we are being served right now.
14. Some most likely hated the fact she was treated like a super model, but yet when she didn't cut weight she was very over weight an a bit un attractive.

16. She is trailer trash
17. When she realized she may struggle to get another win she quit MMA.
18 She ducked cyborg, too many times to count. And it was blatantly obvious, it started in strikeforce and continues today.

The hate was a backlash to the insane hype she received from the UFC, claiming that Ronda was a once in a life time athlete, that she would beat a lot of male fighters, she could even beat Cain "under the right circumstances", etc. It became really silly, and anyone who knew anything about MMA knew how insane those claims were.

Ronda's shitty attitude didn't help either.
