I think you're missing the point. With a guy like Merab you know what you're gonna get and either you like it or you don't. There is the expectation of what his fights go like. And if he happens to submit someone or KO them, it exceeds the expectation. So If you are a fan of his and like his fights, you're never really disappointed. I personally like Merabs fights, I know more than likely they're going the distance and how they will go.
But with the Khamzat/DDP fight, you had the complete opposite of what Khamzats fights usually go like. It was composed, low risk and complete control. His fans and most people were expecting the Khamzat will usually see, but were underwhelemed when the fight went as it did. The exptation coming in was that he would handle him like Whitaker.
