Opinion Why Joe Biden won't be the Dem Nominee

Yeah, that's why those two white guys are way out ahead in the democratic polls.
First off, polls mean nothing. Secondly, it wouldn’t matter if they were ahead. You do realize all Democrats aren’t liberals, don’t you?

Just wait until you see what happens later on if it’s Biden against a woman or minority candidate. He’ll be thrown to the wolves by liberals with sexual assault allegations & what ever else they can come up with. It will be a smear campaign against him. I’ll bet you on that if you want.

The better question: What the hell are YOU considering a "liberal"??

Because you have the most neo-liberal dems supporting the white guy Biden and the most progressive dems supporting the white guy Sanders. All bases are covered.

You're out to lunch.

Old Joe's a racist and a kid toucher? Good thing for him big money says he's a front-runner so that folks in the media know to hop on that bandwagon.

And that's what is directly in front of everybody's face, with some choosing not to see it.

He can’t stop his pederast ways. Good God Almighty

I can't understand how people on the more liberal side get angry, and rightfully so, at the president's creepiness in this manner, yet it's crickets when Biden does the shit all the fucking time. Not only is he a complete farce as a politician, not only is he a complete whore to any breeze he thinks will carry him to another voter, he's a fucking creep on top of it. I think the fact that he does shit like that in full view is even more creepy.

Hes being selected TS, by the powers that be. How much support he has from who doesnt really matter.

A liberal is someone who wants gays, minorities, illegals, women & poor people to have all the power.

Only moderate dems want Biden or Bernie.

And lol a neo-liberal. Get that old shit out of here.

lol She is atrociously fake. Doesn't stand a chance.
What's fake about her? I genuinely don't know all that much about her other than where she stands now, or says she stands. Aside from the softening since her time as the hard-nosed aggro AG, I mean.

Who else but Biden has a chance? Seriously?
He's probably an underdog vs. the whole field, but a big favorite vs. any individual. So nobody will seem to have a chance against him if you just look at it like it's head-to-head. But Sanders, Warren, Harris, Buttigieg, and perhaps people like Klobuchar and Booker are still viable. We'll know more after we see a few debates. Somebody will probably move into a clear third place and some of the riff raff will disappear.

IMO, Sanders is his only competition.

That's the most likely thing. Warren is competing for the Sanders role on policy, and she's a hell of a good speaker and not a "socialist" so she could make it interesting. One of the two of them will consolidate a decent chunk I think.

Harris is a solid bet right now. I think her campaign will resemble Ted Cruz's 2016 campaign in terms of strategy: lock up important political consultants and party allies, don't piss off anyone, and position herself to pick up second choice voters.

I agree, she is kind of like the Democrat version of Ted Cruz, i.e., the shrewd politician who unites just the right segments of the party’s base in just the right areas to secure a path to nomination. But do you think she can win the general? FWIW, I think Cruz would have lost to Hillary because his coalition didn’t bring any new voters to the fold. Cruz alienated people who otherwise were fed up with Democrats, whereas Trump brought these people in. And like Cruz, Harris is not exactly likable for people who aren’t predisposed to liking her. A lot of people just see her and think “boy this bitch looks angry.”

To win, I think Dems need to run someone who puts a wedge in Trump’s coalition. IMO, the only person who can do that is Bernie.

Sounds like the shit he opposed was pretty reasonable. Forcing students to bus outside their school district sounds kinda fucked. Making it an option makes sense
Forced busing was a stupid idea that was also badly Implemented. It didn't hemp anyone and just made existing problems worse

Who do you think Bernie could divide? I can't imagine him garnering much support from anyone in Trump's corner.

There’s actually quite a bit of crossover in places like the upper Midwest / Rust Belt. In particular, Trump and Sanders have anti-establishment positions on free trade that resonate well in those areas. Can Sanders actually fracture the coalition at this point? Hard to say b/c Trump has delivered on that issue in visible ways.

One thing is for sure though: Biden won’t make any friends there by saying “let’s go back to the Obama years.”

The NYT is now saying he should be proud of his crime bill
