Opinion Why Joe Biden won't be the Dem Nominee

Yet he polls better with black people than any other candidate. Bernie bots sound scared.

Yep wonder how those polls will look once the campaign attacks really start. Also once he gets on stage and has to answer hard questions about his past. I don't think he does well but I'm interested to see either way.

Sounds like the shit he opposed was pretty reasonable. Forcing students to bus outside their school district sounds kinda fucked. Making it an option makes sense

Here to say it in another thread. Liberals won’t support another straight white man. That includes Bernie. Moderate dems will definitely want Biden. Question is, are there enough moderate dems to get Biden in. I don’t think so

If conservatives project their identity politics obsession and white male genocide delusions onto liberals for long enough, eventually they will become true!

Biden’s problem is those early primary states. Iowa has a funny habit of killing “perceived frontrunner” momentum, and NH has a strong Bernie following. If he loses both of those, his enthusiasm might dry up completely. That’s why it’s important to manage expectations competently.

My money is on Kamala. She is a good debater, and she will get more attention once candidates are side by side. She will shine in places like SC and NV which have larger minority populations.

Harris is a solid bet right now. I think her campaign will resemble Ted Cruz's 2016 campaign in terms of strategy: lock up important political consultants and party allies, don't piss off anyone, and position herself to pick up second choice voters.

He will be the nominee and all the butthurt progressives will childishly sit at home come election night, and hand the Presidency over to Trump again.

You're crazy if you really think that would happen. No dem would rather have Trump than Biden and they will vote accordingly.

Sure, sure, just like all the Bernie Bros did for Hillary, right?

You underestimate the childishness of progressives. It's all or nothing, and they will indeed be a bunch of babies about it when they're left with an establishment candidate. Spiteful even.

In the 2016 election, Hillary Clinton had 300,000 less votes than Obama had in Michigan in 2012. She had 50,000 less votes in the nearly 90% black city of Detroit. She lost the state by 10,000 votes.

You think these black folk that didn't show up for Hillary are going to come out and support Biden in 2020?

The anti Trump sentiment will be enough to push them to the polls. If they do as you say they deserve Trump, but I don't think they will.

He's a molester. Black people will vote for the party that blames their problems on white people. Facts.

They will. Nothing has changed since 2016 as far as the resentment they hold towards Trump. Didn't help Hillary one bit. Won't help Joe, either. In a way, it's respectable. They DON'T want an establishment candidate, and they will make the party pay for it if they go down that route again.

It's also self-defeating and childish, but there is a method to the madness. If you keep supporting establishment candidates, you're gonna keep getting them.

Bottom line though, the Dems are a mess and the left is divided.

That's what I'm saying. And when it does, this time the majority of middle of the road dem voters will go antifa on the abstainers asses if th
If only there was someone running that wasn't friends with Jesse helms, and wrong on just about every issue in the past.
If you were against the war in 2002 I commend you, but this thread, your own, is about Biden being unpalatable as a candidate to democratic primary voters, not to just us. And these things are not deal breakers to the average voter.

You can't let Joe Biden be Joe Biden.

Will Black Voters Still Love Biden When They Remember Who He Was?

Joe Biden once called state-mandated school integration “the most racist concept you can come up with,” and Barack Obama “the first sort of mainstream African American who is articulate and bright and clean.” He was a staunch opponent of “forced busing” in the 1970s, and leading crusader for mass incarceration throughout the ‘80s and ‘90s. Uncle Joe has described African-American felons as “predators” too sociopathic to rehabilitate — and white supremacist senators as his friends.

And, as of this writing, a plurality of black Democrats want him to be their party’s 2020 nominee.

Whether Biden can retain that support, after voters learn more about his problematic past, could very well determine the outcome of the party’s primary race. To explore that question, let’s pick through the former vice-president’s hefty baggage on racial justice — and then, the case for thinking that Obama’s halo will prove to be brighter than the shadow of Biden’s record is dark

Old Joe's a racist and a kid toucher? Good thing for him big money says he's a front-runner so that folks in the media know to hop on that bandwagon.

This is solid gold. Not only is this a classic example of projection, it's projection about projecting. He's playing chess and conservatives are playing checkers.

Yeah, that's why those two white guys are way out ahead in the democratic polls.
