Elections Why is the US presidential candidate asking me for $5?

A dollar store president would cost at least $10

Now a dollar tree president will cost $1.25 these days lol

They need to rename that place.

Last time I went there was barely anything that was actually a dollar.

$ three fiddy store

You guys need to vote for the candidate that ask you to buy their shit coin instead. It's an investment in the nation.

Kamala Harris campaign page is nothing but donation links. She has no policies listed just give her money.

I do support the idea of getting money out of elections.

That would include getting rid of small donations.

Problem is how to get there.

Obviously it would involve an equal budget(yes, taxpayer money) for viable qualifying campaigns to do equal campaigning. Perhaps remove attack ads completely and have more debates. Richer candidates can’t use their own money to Bloomberg up the election.

Ground game perhaps volunteer driven?

It would have to be very complex and it would obviously have to be tied to the lobbyist culture of DC…which means it has no possible way of passing outside of a Bernie Sanders wet dream.

It’s all pie in the sky anyway because when you consider the thousands and thousands of house races and primaries etc..it would be extremely costly. But the corporate driven system of campaigns is bad.

The problem with all of it even if it happened would be the clearly biased media, big tech, and institutions which give democrats untold billions in unreported campaign contributions through their coverage, censorship, and hive mind respectively...and even with all that they still barely win elections by the skin of their teeth.

I just got a youtube ad
(usually I go in thru brave browser but I am stoned and I guess I forgot)

And it was one of the presidential candidates. Asking ME for $5.

That is NOT the kind of person who should be president of the biggest economy on the planet.

I don't think it is asking TO MUCH that our presidential candidates be drawn from the contingency of the population that DOESN'T NEED TO BORROW 5 FUCKING DOLLARS from ME.

US politics are such a fucking joke.
I want this election to be over so I can stop hearing about these goddamn idiots.
These corny ass real life Zaphrod Beeblebrox fucking clowns need to fuck off.
All of them.

Love Jeff.

I never understood the lay person without a single billion in the bank sending anything to a person with several in theirs.

HARD PASS.

I don't think we'll ever be able to remove small donations in favor of an equal budget.

If you do an equal budget, you will have 10,000 people running for every office imaginable.

Also, it will be impossible to get money in general out of politics. The people who have to vote it away directly benefit from it. And not only that, the people who vote for campaign finance rules also control the budget for the campaign auditors offices ran by the states.

My state for example, only has 2 auditors to audit all statewide campaigns.

And 0 auditors for local campaigns lmao.

I was one of the two people who audited statewide campaigns for about half a decade before I decided to get paid nearly 3 times as much money to work for somebody else. I loved what I did, but it's such bullshit.
.

People are dumb and can be convinced to vote based on advertising. Politicians spend a stupid amount on advertising to herd the voters to the polls. If enough people give $5, the candidate who gets your $5 might be able to convince more morons to vote for them.
