Why do people here hate the GOAT?

And here i thought i was coming into a thread about Nick Thompson misleading thread title :p lol

Dana told them he is overrated after he couldn't sign him. They believe whatever dana says, even though he constantly lies.
 
This Fedor wouldn't last in the UFC. Even his hardcore fans know that.

Jones bumping up to HW would've killed the Fedor we saw this past week.
 
Yeah I put him about 15 or slightly higher based on that performance TS, and with a top-level camp and serious training he could definitely make top 10. I'm not really sure what makes people hate Fyodor and other people like that either, presumably some personal inadequacy.

Wow, just watched the first round on YT. Fedor looking terribly old. Time to hang it up. At the very least drop the "signing with UFC soon" schtick.
 
The time for Fedor in the UFC has long passed. It would only damage his legacy. In his prime, Fedor would've prbly held the title defense record. No one would've touched him. Now, he's too old. I'm a big fan but coming to the UFC now aside from an immediate title shot would probably look bad. Most of the top contenders would prbly beat him. Father time is undefeated. I'd like to see him hang em up. He's been a great competitor and great role model for young fighters. He has a fine legacy to leave behind as it sits today. Zero shame in what he's accomplished.
 
People hate him because they don't understand how good he is. I mean, do you really expect keyboard warriors to understand the mind and skills of a Russian warrior? People whose hardest part of their day is doing dishes and taking out trash... Sheep will never know what it's like to be a goat.

Fedor beat cans, sure but he also beat the best hw bjj fighter during his time in his guard and the best hw striker on the feet. Ppl just can't wait to hop on here and hate on him. It's human nature to hate on ppl that achieve greatness. Comes with the territory. Most fighters can tell you how great he was while internet trolls can only tell you how much he sucked.

That right there would be the source of animosity. When not agreeing with how good someone else is leads to being a pretentious d-bag talking down to people. It causes ill will towards a fighter and his fans/cultists.
 
Fans usually cheer for their own. Sherdog is largely American/Canadian. That is why the more popular fighters here are in smaller weight classes.

Fedor excelled in an unregulated and premature era of the sport. His most impressive wins versus actual competition usually came when the opponent was on a downward trajectory in their career.

His skillset although effective when the pool of talent was lower than today would simply not hold up these days against the elite.

Perhaps if he didn't find Russian Jesus, perhaps if he stopped training vs human punching bags , perhaps if he didn't get triangled by werdum after he himself was cut from the UFC.

Truth is Fedor is one of the greatest but he never fought in the UFC and as such he will always have an asterix by his entry into the GOAT list.

The dude just got brain damage at the hands of the saggy tit light heavyweight Flabio, who got his amazing boxing record fighting guys that were 2-17 in a car park.
 
Fedor is like the babe Ruth of mma. He was on top a long time ago undisputed best of his era. They will both be forever talked about in there sports forever. Both fell off at the end.

If someone takes a forum post so serious that it causes them ill will towards a fighter, someone they've never met before, then they're probably spending too much time online. But that's just my opinion bud.
