Why do Americans Expect God Tier Customer Service from Fast Food???

Im an asshole and i still wont fuck with people's food man lol
I laughed my head off when my friend got stitched up when we got back to the office and told everyone. Her brother worked at quite an upmarket steak restaurant and she expected the same service over a 5 pound baguette after being incredibly rude.

Forget fast food. Find yourself a local place that makes awesome food. You'll pay a few extra dollars for better quality, and service but it will be worth it....

They won them participation trophies, so think they special.

A few times while waiting for my to go order, I saw assholes take back fries or plate lunch or something probably for something so minor, then the food gets dumped and they have to prep a new replacement.

go to a chick fil a, in n out or a raisin canes. they almost always have excellent customer service and most even seem happy to be there.

Work in a service industry long enough, and one develops a lack of empathy that would make Putin blush. I'm genuinely surprised that more of my colleagues don't go on to become serial killers:)

I dont even expect customer service at this point. I'm surprised when i receive decent service with even half a smile. Honestly though, I dont fast food it enough to even care.

The workers are often teenagers… like wtf do you expect? It’s fucking McDonald’s..
I really don't think they do, I think people just know who they can treat like shit. If they go to a real restaurant and act fucked up they will at the very least be checked and probably thrown out. I see it a lot, doing delivery. It's why I don't like going to those places because people save their most ignorant behavior for fast food and 7-11 type places. People honking, being rude, and then, of course, the stupid assed customer who might complain about stuff I can't do anything about as the bags are sealed and I can't see what's missing. One guy had the balls to say, "if these fries are cold I'm complaining to uber" I fixed him with my stare and told him, "I just waited behind ten cars to pick up your order" and he backed off.

This thread is fucking awesome: people so pathetic they eat fast food on a regular basis complaining they aren't treated with enough respect!
ya, that's part of it too, if they respected themselves, they wouldn't eat that poison.

If i ask for no lettuce on a big mac i shouldnt receive a mcchicken with extra tomatoes, tons of lettuce and no sauce.

I mean reading beyond a grade 8 level is hard, i know, but can we at least try to not fuck up a simple order?
that's one of the problems, when i was young, you got what was on a big mac, and didn't have any options. Now, they make shit that much more complicated and you add in long lines, tons of orders and yes.., workers that aren't too swift, don't speak english or plain don't give a fuck and mistakes will be made. But the actual entitlement that people have causes some of these problems, ever been in a drive through listening to people argue while a million people back up behind them? When everyone has that sort of self-centered attitude there will be problems.

Lmao this thread was made about entitled customers at McDonald's and ended up being a bitch fest by fat entitled Karen motherfuckers. Pathetic.

the truf and the register does a lot of the work for the items ordered so im not sure why orders are wrong they build mcds registers to be idiot proof with big ass items buttons on the screen. I could probably memorize a mcdonalds menu in 2 days even when I was 16.

I go to the drive thru, order my food, what I ordered shows on the screen. The fry cook and the person putting the order in the bag also have screens to tell them what goes into the order and they still find a way to fuck it up. The local Wendy's were always fast and accurate but the franchise owners retired when Wendy's demanded that they build new stores. After a couple of years, Wendy's built a new store at one of the old locations but they can never seem to get an order correct. The fasten a receipt to the bag. How difficult is it to look at the receipt and put the proper items in the bag?

Fast food restaurants have too many menu items now to be able to provide fast service. When McDonald's first started, they only had burgers and one size patty, french fries, soda, and shakes. You could get with or without cheese. They knew that anyone who walked in was going to probably get a burger and fries so they could put more burgers on the grill and drop more fries into oil as cars came in. Then they added double burgers but it was still the same patties. They did have fish on Fridays because before 1966 in the US, Catholics weren't supposed to eat meat on Fridays.

I don`t expect even good service, seems you can`t even expect english these days. Probably why I only get fast food 2-3 times a year.

I have never yelled at a fast food worker and I never will. Fix it if you fucked it up is all I ask. If you get home and it’s wrong, that’s your fault for not checking the order. By me most fast food workers are South American immigrants who work hard. There are spots I avoid in certain neighborhoods bc if who works there...........rude, unprofessional, lazy, and I know they are fucking with the food.

Why should the service be sub par at one of the easiest possible jobs one could ever do?

Honestly why should anyone settle for sub par service from any service being provided..?

Taco bell is the worst now I am always missing an item or they give me brutally cold food like my cheesy fiesta potatoes had a little bit of ice.
worst part about taco bell and taco del mar(don't know if that's a national chain) and subway is that it seems that their food is often around long enough to taint, I've gotten sick or been really tired after eating there, as if my body is trying to fight off food poisoning. That stuff just sits around until someone buys it and that can be awhile.
