Obviously the Fertitta Brothers and Dana got a fat cut from the selling of the UFC. They were the owners.
But now I hear that Joe Silva and the lawyers got a fat deal too, so they don't have to work for the of their life.
Dana said it himself.

Who else got a cut?

I know who didn't...the fighters who helped build the UFC - Randy Couture, Tito Ortiz, GSP, etc. ...none of them got a cut. But where would the UFC be without them?

And in addition to that Dana shits on them in public on a regular basis.

The fighters aren't shareholders in the company, they are sub-contractors. Legally they aren't entitled to anything except what their contract states, and the UFC isn't known for giving their fighters money when they don't have to.

The new Tax Plan will solve this don’t worry

What about Joe Silva and the lawyers? Are they shareholders?

Joe silva started with the UFC in 1993, so yes, he most likely was a shareholder.

Lawyers will always get paid. They have a huge role to play during the sale of a business.

They were not smart enough to get a cut. This is how life works. You only get what (1) you are given by a superior, (2) you can negotiate or (3) you can take by force.

These are the 3 major ways of getting something that you don't have, and/or can't create.

Whatever you have, in this life, is exactly what you deserve. LOL

It's this type of thing that really makes me appreciate roll up the rim at Tim Hortons.

How would that work though? Would you just divide a cut between everyone who was in the UFC ever, up til the sale? Or just the Hall of Famers?

If not - how would you decide who was important enough to get a cut? Doesn't seem fair to the guys who didn't make that cut.

Funny I watched an interview yesterday the lady asked conor if he got a cut he basically said no I was like boy they did him dirty

"independent contractors"

Wink wink, nudge nudge.

Doesn't work that way in sports.

when a team owner sells his team for profit, do the players get a cut?

No

Same deal here.

It's not like Bob Meyrowitz gave any of the fighters a cut when he sold the UFC to Zuffa.

Nor did PRIDE give anything to their fighters when they sold to the UFC.

Nor did Scott Coker give anything to their fighters when they sold to the UFC.

This is not a sport or a league...this is a company that's been built in the past 15 years to where it is today,
and we could all see how much the fighters contributed.

It is a sport

definition of sport - an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment.

And the comparison stands.
