Why ain't Alvarez getting a red panty night?

I think Alvarez is 125k/125k fit his 5th UFC fight. Sometime posted his fight contract a year back or so. If I remember right it was an 8 or 10 fight contract. I want to say his contract tops out at 300k/300k but it's been a while since I read it.

But where Alvarez is going to make bank at is ppv points. And yes, as a champ and main eventer, he will get ppv points.

How do you know he is getting PPV points- are we just guessing? Dana likes screwing fighters not named Conor...

He tried to play hard ball because of what Nate got. Dana threw a Khabib curveball at him, and Eddie settled for the money fight.
But this Is the whole point of the thread, apparently it's not a money fight

As a champ maybe but I'm damn sure everyone doesn't just get ppv points for being in a main event.

Lol Eddie is getting $2.50 per ppv buy if it gets atleast over 600k buys.

Its probably gonna do 2mill buys so do the math the guy is going to make $5mill just from ppv points. Not as much as conor overall but still a HUGE payday.

Its the way he manscapes his beard, gets in the way of a solid red panty night.

With the ppv points Eddie could make as much as $5M. Sounds like a red panty night to me.

I'm sure he will get a cut from the PPV and adding conor on the card will add up to a ton of money.

He should just win this fight, and then play hardball if the UFC wants to give Conor a gift rematch again. If Eddie wins this fight, his name will become a lot bigger, and more money is pretty much guaranteed. I do believe other people in this thread are right about PPV points though, and he's already getting a lot.

It was always to my understanding that if your face was on the poster you get ppv points. It might not be a big percentage, like 5%, but even as little as 1.5% is still $$$$

That's not true . I remember an interview bisping done in the past and he was asked if he got a Ppv cut and he said no. This was way before he was champ but he had headlined many cards and his face was on a lot of posters .
If a guy like bisping recieved nothing for all that time then. I think it's pretty safe to say most others don't either .
It's really on an individual basis, who draws, who the UFC wants to help out but most importantly . Who has a good agent and manager to hash them out a good deal

I know when Rampage and Rashad fought, and it wasn't for a title, they both got ppv points. That's why they played up not liking each other so much on TUF. They created drama and wanted the ppv to sell.

You could be right though. I'm not an expert but how many ppvs has Bisping headlined in the past?

Cause Alvarez is not a draw - he just happens to be the guy holding the belt that Conor will be fighting for.

From the presser Conor is implying Alvarez is getting the same money as he would fighting anyone else as it's his old contract and he ain't negotiated a new one.. why didn't he do a Nate and ask for the big money? He has the belt ffs
I think he's getting paid.
Cerrone just did an interview with Bloody Elbow where he explains that champs get a cut of the ppv.

Ok so what everyone is seeming to forget is that all the huge money everyone talks about getting from mcgregor fights isn't just the show/win money, it's the PPV points. If the PPV sells 1.5 mil or more which is very likely, Alvarez is gonna cash in HUGE. Basically he's just not getting the guaranteed "3 million win or lose" like Conor and Nate did.

The Diaz name goes along way, how many of them people at the NY presser on Tuesday knew or had seen Alvarez fight before? even when he's beaten the likes of Dos Anjos, Pettis etc.

Nate got 500k for his first fight with Conor and that was on short notice. My guess is Eddie will make 250k with a 250k win bonus. Still better than the 150k he got to win the title but not quite Red Panty money.
it is red panty night when you factor in PPV points. If this does 1.5 million buys, he's got $10 million easily.

Finally someone else who doesn't just take everything Conor says as fact. People seem to think that Eddie will be getting 40/40, they don't understand that the reason people cash in big on mcgregor fights is the ppv, not that they always just sign some huge guaranteed contract just because they fight Conor.
