Who's more dominant in their respective divisions: Weidman or Jones?

That's your opinion. When Weidman fought Anderson the first time Anderson was still ranked #1 P4P in the world. It wasn't until he finally lost (to Weidman) that Jones then became the #1 P4P.

Sure. People will never agree. It's just a matter of different opinions.

Weidman would smash Jones... so Weidman. Jones also tied Gus.. Weidman by double.

Are you serious? Jones - bigger, longer, diversified striker, better cardio, better wrestling (see DC fight). I don't see how Chris could beat Jon outside of a flash KO or sub (even tho Jones has an iron chin and has defeated multiple bjj black belts).

Jones, because he has been dominant for longer. Weidman's reign isn't looking like it's going to stop anytime soon, though.

3 of Jone's title defenses were against middleweights, zero of Weidmans opponents were welterweights.

Weidman would have also rolled over the out of prime Rampage and Shogun that Jones fought. Jones's most legit wins were DC and Alex, which i'd favor both over Weidman, but Weidman is a middleweight. All that being said, Jones is still the most dominant champ, but the chris could potentially catch him in 2-3 years.

Jones, he has 3x as many title defenses.

Weidman still needs to beat Jacare, rockholt, and romero before he can realistically be compared from a dominance perspective.

Jones and its not even close

Weidman because he's actually an active fighter.

Weidman isnt going to beat DC, he doesnt hit hard enough to stop DC from getting ahold of him, and he doesnt have Jones' eye gouges to blind DC.

DC would beat Weidman up. Gus would also be 50/50 vs Weidman and could very easily put on a boxing clinic. But he has less than stellar takedown defense so I could see Weidman eating some shots and getting the takedown and schooling Gus on the ground like he just did to Vitor.

But yes Weidman beats Bader, Evans, Jackson, Shogun, and already beat Machida and Belfort.

You dont regard Machida as a MW because he's fighting in the division now, he was at 205 for years prior to fighting Jones and after fighting Jones. Guys like Vitor and Chael may have been MW's but on fight time they were anything but. They were solid LHWs.

Jones is 2 inches bigger, a little lengthier, a worse striker, maybe better cardio but who knows because of he uses his length to conserve energy, worse wrestling(blame dc being a extremely shorter fighter, wasting more energy trying to do nothing) Chris is evenly matched in size.. DC looks scared of Weidman. He's 4 inches shorter than Weidman.

Weidman has much more power in his hands than Jones. He's a much more technical fighter with way better footwork. His timing is better. His wrestling is certainly better because of his takedown variety, his setups and how easily he transitions from striking to grappling. His ground game is far superior to Jones'. Gary Tonon, via tweet, just said that he'd favor Weidman over anybody at his weight class in the world in a sub only match. That's how good Weidman's submission grappling is. Weidman likes to use this mostly in MMA for positional purposes but he's capable of subbing anyone if he doesn't ground and pound them out.

People seem to forget how easily Gustafsson, a European boxer, stuffed all but one of Jones' takedowns. Jones got one out of 11 or 12. That's horrible. Weidman is the better takedown artist and overall wrestler than Jones. The size difference could make a difference if he ever fought Jones but he's the better wrestler and grappler by leaps and bounds. Outwrestling a gassed Cormier isn't really that impressive. Cormier was walking through a ton of strikes to even get to the clinch against Jones. Horrible gameplan.

So yeah, I agree.

How is he a more skilled fighter??

He is a better boxer but so is almost everyone at 205 and yet Jones beats them with freakish reach and eye gouges.

Jones has the edge in kicks, I have yet so see Weidman be effective offensively with his kicks as well as Jones.

Weidman is the better freestyle wrestler but Jones is the better Greco Roman wrestler.

Weidman is the better submission grappler.

Pretty even with a slight edge to Weidman however, Jones size and reach X out the small skill gap.

Jones would hands down be the favorite in a fight. He might be the only fighter at 205 with equal to or possibly better fight IQ than the Chris.

Weidman is a better striker and wrestler. He'd beat Jones and he's two inches shorter!

Wrong on both counts. In fact, the two inches shorter comment may be the only thing you've ever posted here that is even close to accurate.

Jones without a doubt.

Weidman is severely overrated, especially on this forum.
