Who wins the democratic vote?

For a lot of people, it's probably just a form of the False Consensus Effect. Plus some trolling (the betting odds would be extremely attractive if someone truly believed that he was a lock, but the people saying that aren't taking advantage--that tells you something).

Agreed. I don’t see this election going in the direction of a ‘trouncing’ for either side.

On a side note, what’s your take on Bernie possibly splitting the Dem vote if he gets the nod? You think it’s possible, or will traditional establishment type Dems suck it up and support him?

I just find it hard to believe when people say he is being helped by being impeached. He will be acquitted but the votes will go down party lines. John Bolton isn’t going away just because the senate voted to not let him testify. Now he can just talk without the burden of being under oath. It looks bad. Trump was not a popular candidate in 2016 and a lot of people saw him a lesser of 2 evils. I would think he looks a lot more evil now.

What exactly is he a lot more evil on? The economy is doing great and a lot of people are seeing more return on their taxes. We haven't started WW3 and he's cracked down on immigration.. Literally what he ran on.

I think that the socialism crowd is quite loud, but America is still firmly committed to Capitalism.

I hope so. I don’t want a larger government that a Socialist type regime would absolutely produce, or try to.

For me, Bernie can capture the energy needed to being put young and POc voters. I think that can do much better than getting the moderate in line

I think this is definitely possible. As someone on the opposite side, I think it’s something to worry about.

Too early to tell.

Iowa - Monday
New Hampshire - The following week
South Carolina - Just after NH
Nevada - After that.

Those are four very different demographics.

Well for one his divisive name calling conspiracy theory type of politics has not made our country great . I think a lot of people are bored with it.

If Biden faces off against Trump in the 2020 Presidential Election will that be the oldest combined ages for two candidates.

Also, when Roman Abramovich, Alexander Abramov and Oleg Deripaska meet with Valdimir Putin to set out state policy to suit their businesses why are they referred to as oligarchs but when Jeff Bezos, David Koch and Jim Walton do the same your media says you are still living in a Democracy.

Whoever wins will have a large majority of people who didn't support them in the primary supporting them in the general. People make a mistake focusing on the typical cases. The difference is like 88% vs. 90%. Hard to predict, but I do fear that Bernie is the weakest general-election candidate.

Yeah, I think so, too

You wouldn’t know that if your only news source is CNN though.

I know you weren't asking me but... I feel like chiming in here.

There's little to no chance that "traditional establishment type Dems" will cease supporting Bernie, were he to win the nomination. I think you're confusing establishment Democratic elected officials to Democratic voters.

Every Biden, Warren, Buttigieg supporter I know also likes Bernie. They prefer these other candidates for various reasons, but none of them ideological. It's not like they'll say "I want Biden to be president... but all that UHC, free college, and cutting the military budget stuff from Bernie is preposterous! I'm going Trump"

The question is whether Bernie can attract enough independents and swing voters. How many of these have that mental block about the word socialism? How many can't get past "big government"?

It's funny to hear you guys shit on Bernie, who is the only person who isn't an abject corrupt piece of shit, be it Trump or the rest in the dem field.

Progressive policies like those he's pushing for? Poll extremely high with the public, decade after decade.

Yet you'll choose the fake populist in the spray tan who gives corporations tax cuts, helps the Saudis wage an illegal war, and can't come close to balancing the trade or budget deficits, but widened them.

As long as it's for Real Americans. By the way, enjoy fighting for Bernie, your side is sabotaging him again like 2016.
