Who is the most unfairly maligned fighter?

I can't think of anyone for mine besides maybe periera simply because he's getting as much hate as love.

It's baffling when he at least comes across as a genuine guy, puts on bangers 99% of the time and literally SAVES ppvs but apparently that's not good enough for some.

It is probably the UFCs discrepancy to make him a contender and star when he is only an awesome and fun middle level fighter.
Pride gave more praise to those but the UFC does its best to suck at both sport and entertainment. Am I doing it right?
The UFC haven't pushed him though. They just react to the numbers he pulls on social media. It's easy to promote people that promote themselves.

It isn't like they are rushing him into big opportunities.

He's just now getting a ranked opponent in his 6th UFC fight.

Nobody complained about them pushing Jiri, who fought for a title in his 3rd fight. Or Poatan, who fought for one in his 4th.

Paddy is looking at 9, maybe even 10 straight wins before he's in title contention (if he can even get there.)

This is only a complaint when people don't like a fighter. Same thing happened with Conor when he was first coming through. "They're rushing him to the top" "they are giving him easy fights" even though he had to go through Brimage, Holloway, Brandao, Poirier, Siver and Mendes before getting an undisputed title fight against Aldo. That's a murderers row but to hear Sherdog tell it he was getting treated with kiddie gloves.

I think Ronda is unfairly maligned.

She didnt cheat, always made weight, didnt do no roids, didnt pull out of fights

When dudes do some of the shit she did, like not shake hands or push people at weigh ins, like no one gives a shit, but she gets treated like Hitler for that lol

I don't really agree there. Ronda was big on disrespecting people but threw hissy fits or actually started crying when people did it back to her. Hypocrisy or fake behavior is rarely loved, regardless of gender.

Tons of people hated McGregor for being a trash talker but he at least never whined about people talking back to him.

Fedor and GSP get a lot of hate for being uncontroversial (relatively) , dominant champions. I think Ronda gets more hate than she deserves, but I can at least see the basis for some folk's vocal opinions about her. I don't take in too much MMA media so I miss interviews and coverage outside actual MMA events, but why the fuck do people hate Ian Garry so much?

Aljamain Sterling. The hate began because he got flagrantly fouled. Then continued because he won a close fight and beat a fighter that came in injured. None of these things were his fault.

What it says. Not going to post my opinion, don't want to sidetrack the thread. Who's the guy (or girl) that gets dumped on for their fighting style, personality, resume or whatever else that you think gets the most unwarranted hate? Active or retired.
By far JJ. Dude is the GOAT but every leaky cunt here has been going full-Karen for over a decade on him being a but but bad person. It's embarrassing to read let alone write.

Why would anyone write that and omit the oscar winning drama he put on to get Yan disqualified, which is the reason most haters started the hate. It's so bizarre when people on the internet decide to distort reality and completely frame events for something as unimportant as why some cage fighter is hated.

I think it's Aljamain Sterling.

People hate him since the Petr Yan incident, but he's elite, and I think he's a good dude to be honest

My asshole / fake "good dude" detector is on point, and he doesn't trigger it
He was also a Sherbro for his amateur career and early pro career. He was very active on here back in the day.

Nah, I think “he didn’t react how I think he should after being flagrantly fouled with a full force knee to the face” is shitty reasoning and still falls under unfairly maligned.

I dont get why Anthony smith got so much hate.

Ok, he past his time a long time ago, but he's a decent grapller, has been in a lot of wars and never ducked anyone. He could hold a W over Jon Jones, but dosent want to win by DQ, and when He's not talking about his own figth, I think he made good comments.

Going after Ariel and dick riding Dana was a very bad look, that and the robbery of Gordon didn't did him any favors.

I feel he lost a bit of hype after that.
And saying Mokeav wasn't English because of his background, that's a pretty ignorant and xenophobic mindset. Even if he's just saying it to sell wolf tickets it's still perpetuating the 'only white/western looking people belong here' mindset.

I would say Adesanya

Sure he had a few lackluster fights (don't forget Anderson Silva also did), and can be socially awkward, but that man is very talented and has put on quite a highlight reel of knockouts. Plus he was a very active champion and took on all challengers, which is something you don't see often from champs in other divisions
Nah, i would never respect a guy saying c-word and i'm sure you would never respect a white guy saying n-word.
But i support the true equality, not some i want equality by giving certain people priviliges

Not sure how this is unfair. The guy is a penis.
perfect example below, that shit isn't true there have been all kinds of false rumors that has all been debunked. That would be a true definition of being unfairly maligned. Do you get it now? derp
Yeah but he took his wife's first husband's name and moved to Brazil so the 3 of them can be together.
