Who is the most unfairly maligned fighter?

Probably Belal, despite everything the guy keeps winning and getting better.
I equate Belal Muhammad (I think that is his name?) to Paul Buentello. imo

When you have cheesy catchphrases like "don't fear me fear the consequences" and "remember the name"

That shit is bound to backfire on your ass. lol

I think it's Aljamain Sterling.

People hate him since the Petr Yan incident, but he's elite, and I think he's a good dude to be honest

My asshole / fake "good dude" detector is on point, and he doesn't trigger it
Fuck No. lol he literally jumps on your back and rides you like a human backpack for 15 minutes no one wants to see that boring shit. Plus he is a certified victim. The hate he gets is well deserved and not even having to mention the Yan debacle. lol

My point is that I don't think he's the asshole many people think he is (personality). His fighting style is another debate

I'm not a fan, but I'm not a hater either. I just think the guy is a decent human being in day to day life, as a training partner, etc., despite all that was said about him.

he's a sore loser no cap!

I think Ronda is unfairly maligned.

She didnt cheat, always made weight, didnt do no roids, didnt pull out of fights

When dudes do some of the shit she did, like not shake hands or push people at weigh ins, like no one gives a shit, but she gets treated like Hitler for that lol
Agreed. Plus the whole not taking the loss well. I find that alright tbh, she was a competitor to the end and hated losing, it's understandable. She should have been more gracious in defeat but honestly tons of male fighters do the same thing and get clowned less for it.

She also was one of the most exciting fighters on the planet. I wasn't around for her reign, but I rewatched her fights and by god do I want more. They were all bangers!

Agreed. He gets a ton of shit but from what I can see he's a stand up bloke, whose been unfairly maligned because of the the illegal knee situation that honestly shouldn't have happened like it did if the refs had a spine and the rules were better. Ref should have called it immediately, instead of putting the onus on Sterling.

no way. that’s one guy who deserves every bit of hate that he gets. he turned me into a suga sean fan, and i can’t stand that guy. fuck aljo.

unfairly maligned fighters people already mentioned:
- paddy: cool guy, great attitude, deserves no hate
- ronda: she earned some hate, but not this much
- ian garry: no worse than anyone else

i’ll add ben askren’s name to the list. he didn’t seem like a bad guy at all. he was just trying to sell his fights, like anyone else. his biggest crime was getting epically knocked out by a piece of human garbage (and maybe getting an early stoppage over lawler).

Rockhold and Hendricks come to mind, you could argue both dropped off before they should have but there treated like jokes when they did have several year long runs at the top of the sport.

I honestly don't understand the vitriol towards Paddy the Baddy. He has an entertaining fighting style and he seems like good lad.

I think some of it is because he's had this delusional confidence about his skills like he's a world beater.

Came to say this
Best I can tell you is he talks tons of shit but isn't anywhere near as good as he or the ufc make out.

I don't like him but honestly it's the ufcs fault for pushing the kid like crazy when he's just not at that level yet.

Im referring to the paddy posts if that's unclear.
