Who here is still Catholic??

I don't think the science is settled on that issue. Anyway, it doesn't matter because there is nothing wrong with being gay so it's origins are irrelevant. I don't have to explain why im straight.

You don't have to, but it's not as banal, it's like saying being black is a choice

First of all, I didn't say it was.
And I don't know what they teach. Probably varies a lot.

But I do think that "teaching" little kids about Hell is definitely abusive.

And that's why they don't teach little kids about Hell.

1) the other guy did say it was physically and mentally abusive, i'm asking him about that claim

2) you're making an assumption that they are teaching little kids about hell, which is not happening (at least when i went to school)

3) i learned about evloution, sex ed and other religions before my peers who attended non-catholic schools

They used to but if you're telling me that none of them do that anymore, I guess I'm gonna have to take your word for it.

I can't tell you that none of the do. All that I can tell you is that Saints Peter and Paul Catholic School in New Braunfels, TX does not.

No they just teach you how samson requested his strenth for God just for one more time to take as many infadels to the grave with him as he possibly could

Really? Have you been sitting in on my kids' classes? English, Spanish, Math, Art, Music, Science, History and Physical Education. That's their curriculum. They go to mass for an hour on Fridays.

Okay, if the Catholic Church changed their beliefs on heaven and hell, then I stand corrected. I was wrong.

But, we do know that the Catholic Church actively protects convicted :eek::eek::eek:philes. This is a fact. There is no controversy about this issue. Its a documented fact. If you didnt already know this, look into the sources I posted, or read this. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catholic_sex_abuse_cases

So by enrolling your child in a Catholic church, you are paying coin that goes to the church. You are funding an organization that protects :eek::eek::eek:philes.

I find this to be wrong. If you have a different perspective, I am more than willing to consider it and adjust my stance accordingly.

haha you must have missed like 50 years of scientific research,

I said it's more of a choice than being a certain race. Although there are certain predispositions for being more likely to be gay genetically, I definitely stand behind that statement.

So they don't talk about samson in mass?

okay, well if you do that as well as somehow ensure your child wont come into contact with any rapist priests or physically abusing nuns, then more power to you.

To me, it just makes more sense to keep your kid out of the mental institution all together, instead of sending him there and just telling him, "just remember son, everyone around you at the place im sending you 9 hours a day, 5 days a week, is crazy. And on top of that, there are several hostiles on the premises that I need you to avoid contact with all together."

Maybe its just me, but that seems unfair to put that burden on a growing child. A positive environment is very important.

Is there no regular private schools available in your area?

Lol

Kids get molested in public school and day cares too.

And the people there aren't crazy.

In Philly public schools are complete shit unless you get into one of the 2 magnet schools.

Catholic schools are a good cheap alternative.

What do you think of Catholic Universities like Notre Dame, Villanova, St Joe's, St John's, Boston College, Creighton, Georgetown, Marquette etc...

So they don't talk about samson in mass?

Have you been to Catholic Mass? No, they do not. In fact, I can't remember the Old Testament ever having been talked about in mass, and I grew up going to mass every Sunday.

LOL at there being so many sex abuse cases in the Catholic Church that it has its own Wiki page!! HAHAHAHA

Haha

We better get ready for some weak kids if that is abusive

It's more of a choice. Not sure what that means.

Do you choose to only go after women even though you feel the urge to have sex with both sexes or how does that work?
Because I only feel that urge towards women. So, not really sure where the choice comes in.

Haha

It's a terrifying thought for a child to ponder and you finding it amusing says more about you than any kid that is going through or has gone through that.

As someone who works in Philadelphia schools, there are more than 2 options for parents. Assuming your thinking of Masterman and Central. As someone with a girlfriend who's son is in catholic school and someone who did 12 yrs of catholic school growing up...not nearly as cheap as it used to be.

you don't know what you are talking about and like to mix up your generalisations

get your facts and argument straight and figure out what you want to propagate before actually doing so

Lets ignore all the good things like subsidized education, top research institutes, hospitals, orphanages and missionaries.

Were you actually molested as a child?

Is that why you're so jaded?

How much is it now?

It is still cheaper than any prep school .

And yeah I wouldn't send my kids anywhere but Central and Masterman
