Whiskey, War, Suicide, and Guns

I have not done any reverse band benching in a while - but the last time I did - it was with 365. There is no damn way I would do it without a spotter.

Yeah, it gets really scary towards the top when all that weight starts dumping onto your arms. I set the pins in the rack so I can collapse my arch and not suffocate to death, but if it went towards my face I would be fucked.

When are you going to start training with the other PLers at your gym?

I workout when they do now, which is part of why I went to the upper/lower again. I'm not working in with them (it would be rather annoying to change 400 pounds of weight every set, lol) but I get help from them.

Are you going to do more of a hybrid? With 75% for 4x5 or 4x4 on the lower 2 - sort of what Eric Cressy recommends?

I've never read anyone's training logs on EFS that sticks to 50% if 1rm for speed work.

Yeah, pretty much. I've threw some ideas at Mike Truchsherer and came up with something. Basically my weeks look like:

Sunday
Main Squat
Secondary Deadlift
Squat Supplement

Monday
Main Bench
Bench Assist
Bench Supp

Wednesday
Main Deadlift
Squat assistance
Deadlift Supplement

Friday
Secondary Bench
Bench assist
Bench Supp

I alternate the workouts between volume and intensity protocals. The volume workouts are Sheiko-esque, usually 70-80%, and the intensity workouts are Westside ME style. There's also things you can do like fatigue stop workouts in place of these, but I fooled with them a bit, didn't really feel comfortable with them, so I'm going to stick to more to programmed total number of sets at a certain %. Eventually the goal is to shift these workouts into 4 full body days, with 1-2 benches and 1-2 squats/deads a day. But that will be a little while.

Damn - that is something very similar to what I've been doing. I've been trying to do:

High Volume
Medium Volume
Very High Volume
Low Volume

I'm trying to rotate sets of 5s + 1 single, 3s + one singles and just a singles. I'll do between 8 to 3 working sets.

My Lower2 shit is a lot of 4x4, 6x4, etc with 70-75% + chains or band.

Fuck deloads.

Yeah, I was getting the feeling we were looking similar workout wise. I guess the only real difference being I program the lifts for a certain day and wave the intensity, you program the intensity for a certain day and wave the lifts.

that assumes I follow anything like I'm supposed to

Never knew DW was a personal trainer. If he is, he fails for other reasons than only lifting 475@180.

Donut: So Sheiko is out of the window for now? Reasons? I thought it was amazing.
