Whiskey, War, Suicide, and Guns

Good squatting homie. Better not hear any complaining about warm weather.

*puts on raincoat and galoshes*

*puddle stomps*

This place sucks.

LOL, I thought of you today when I watched the news and they were going across the country "Hot and sunny! Hot and sunny! Hot and sunny!.....and Pacific Northwest, you're in for another soggy cloud filled week."

this place is recockulous! Its been raining everyday this week. I swear it felt like November yesterday. My parents called to gloat from Buffalo; they were in the 90s too.

Fiona told me that Wade Hooper told her that one of the reasons he didn't use straight Sheiko was that he felt that it was too much to recover from without copious amounts of drugs. Thought you might find that interesting.

I've been doing 3 day Sheiko routines with decreased deadlift volume for 7+ months now. Part of the reason I reduce the deadlift volume is that my squat has a decent carryover when it comes to deadlifting, but not vice-versa, and deadlift is my best lift. Another reason is that the three day routines are already fairly demanding when it comes to recovery.

The MSIC level routines that people like Hooper are supposed to use are five days of lifting per week, three of which have deadlifting. I don't think my body would last two weeks without self-destructing on that type of schedule.

Stupid me, I forgot yesterday that this is a high stress week and I should be hitting 7-8 working sets, not 5-6. So today I got back on track. This was honestly the best day of pressing I have ever had. Everything felt tight, I was stopping the bar quickly on my chest, and the pauses were perfect. The volume was retarded high, which it is supposed to be this week. 285x3 was a PR, but I could have easily handled 295-300x3 today if it was programmed for more intensity.

Fuck you.

I'll PM you my beer selections.

You aren't in the race, Mittens. The only other person is ChaseT and he got banned. Sorry, maybe you can do the next one.

I just want to say that doing SLDL with my toes elevated on some 10lb plates has given me the worst case of hamstring DOM's I have ever felt, even worse than using the GHR bench for the first time. I'm going to have to focus on them tonight or else tomorrow's lower session will be a train wreck.

Which race are you talking about here Donut?

The race to 1500. :) In all seriousness, it will take a major breakthrough at this point to catch up to Chase.

Does Mittens have a log?
Donut, nice pressing man. Pause bench is TOUGH, but it sound like you got the timing and speed down!

Hey homies,

Rev band bench....Should I use doubled minibands or Avg bands? I don't have any light bands, which seem most appropriate.

Dbl mini's are lighter, go with that. For raw benching you want a really low contrast. With the bar in the bands, it's easy to add weight and get the bar to "hover" at the top and bottom of the bench so you can calculate how much you are taking off the top and how much off the bottom.
