Which bidder for UFC do you prefer?

Who would you rather purchase UFC?

Not bothered at all.
I just never understood going into a clearly labeled thread just to post IDC.
Makes no sense to me.
I don't normally do that. But this is a post that is explicitly ASKING US to come in and give our opinions. My opinion? I don't friggin give a heck.

Not caring is the most rational opinion to have, given our level of information and our level of input (almost none and none).

You should add I don't friggin' give a heck as a fourth option.

Then I'd vote.

IDC if you vote & nobody "explicitly ASKED" anything - it is called an option (for those that might care)

Also some do have knowledge or those that don't, might take some time to look into it further by googling - instead of googling a childish meme

;)

It's a funny meme. It made this thread better. You're welcome.

And since when does "what do you prefer?" Not qualify as explicitly asking someone something?

why do posters here hate chinese

Becuase 'Merica.

Their electronics, appliances, clothing, food, automobiles, furniture, building supplies, and machinery parts might be made in China, but GOD DAMMIT their MMA won't be!

China Media Capitol.

Seems like they would take the bigger risk, bring real super fights, make UFC more international...Hell maybe even bring back PRIDE Rules.

Seems like people vote against Chinda Media Capitol because it has china in the name.

Wanda Group = Too Mainstream, they won't do anything revolutionary for the sport.

William Mirris Endeavor = Too Mainstream/Too American....Again they won't do anything to push the sport.

I don't get the "Pride rules' thing.
A company would be stupid to change too much as far as rules go.
UFC makes most their profit aligning themselves with USA rules/guidelines & what is accepted in the states.

I think it is more hating the potential focus change a Chinese company might enforce.
More China based cards mean they start early morning, etc.

i think it has more to do with xenophobia. people still drink bud, and go see certain films in theater, yet when they're more involved, or invested personally, they freak out. . . this is capitalism, homies. the money is still green, and business is still in the states.

Sorry ladies but your can bet your bottom Yen that the Chinese have this one in the bag so you had better set your alarm clocks.

That is certainly part of it.
That is a common trait.
I mean nobody is more xenophobic than the Chinese.
I can only speak from the conversations with people I know (of) & they like that the company is primarily focused on USA time zones/interest.
It benefits their lifestyle & I get that!

Pride was Japanese. I doubt anyone is going to really look to change much. It's already incredibly profitable as is, which is why anyone is interested in buying it for what they're interested in buying it for.

Wasn't there another bidder working on behalf of a hedge fund that owns the NJ Devils and Sixers?

God I hope it's not them because the UFC will just sign all the big fighters, never make them fight and then trade them to Real Madrid for some practice squad soccer players.

I don't know man, China's favorite pass time is making money off of Americans. They might give us something we really love, and at a fraction of the cost.

While they do like to keep things American, I think the more thoughtful of people have better reasons then just Xenophobia. There's a sketchiness to buying up all our debt, lots of high value properties in NY and LA and businesses, on top of the economic espionage they are very well known for. You see lots of high value items being purchased by people funded by the government, that shouldn't sit right with anyone.

Secondly as people mentioned, Pride was Japanese and people really didn't care. Sure it started as Japanese, so there's not the idea of it changed from American to something else, but a vast majority of fans care more about the fights, it's a small minority who probably would complain but they'd get over it quickly.

Great post.

Buried in the sea of memes & smart-ass relies are some very cerebral post/people.
That is one of the reasons I post some info on each company (without getting into TLDR territory).
Obviously nobody can know for sure how new owners will effect things, but I enjoy looking into things further & as an MMA fan - this is by far the biggest news there is.
I completely get the "I just care about fights" crowd, but there are a lot of different fans that like to discuss the outside of cage parts of MMA as well.

Disagree, Americans are the most xenophobic. Perfect example most sheeps on here think the Chinese are a threat to the American way of life. I'll let you in on a secret they are Not.

America is a mix of the rest of the world.
The fact that there are so many Chines owned/run businesses proves your point incorrect.

I know nothing about you, so I am not judging you, but ...
Anybody that has ever been in a business knows that it is next to impossible to sell to Chinese run businesses, because they are very distrustful of anybody that is not Chinese.
