Clearly Ford IMHO, Red October is probably the best film but Connery was the real lead there.

Never read the book so.....Idk

Easily Ford, even though Alex is a close second , but to fair I haven’t watched Jack Ryan

Hey nice to see you got your platinum membership back. We need more poll makers like you in the mix. lol :)

Ford is too old to play what Jack Ryan is supposed to be at the stage of the series, but is perfect for the series once he is director of CIA or President. I personally enjoy the Jack Ryan series on Amazon, but it feels more like he's playing the son Jack Ryan rather than Jack Ryan Sr.

I don't know what is about Alec Baldwin. I guess because I believe he's best actor out of that group. Also I just prefer his portrayal the most.

I have read all of Clancys books. I feel like when I watched the series Krasinski put in the best performance in the first series, but then all the sudden in the second season he became Jack Bauer with his marksmanship. But I still think he was the best portrayal.

I'v not read the books but I think Ford works well in his two films, in Red October a younger more naive Ryan works well but the next two I think it needs someone you can believe is a seasoned intelligence vet,

TBH I like Harrison Ford as Jack Ryan, but in the book Patriot Games he's actually just a history teacher who happens to save the Price and Princess of Whales. He joins the CIA as a result of saving them.

Alec Baldwin.

Ford is highly overrated and was really only good as Han Solo and Indiana Jones.

In any other type of role he's highly replaceable

Again I haven't read the books but in Clear and Present Danger especially I don't think that would have worked as well with a younger actor, you needed someone with the same kind of gravitas as the CIA guys he was locking horns with.

Sorry, I can never buy Jim playing some secret agent bad ass who is saving the world. Dude is type-cast and doesn’t have the depth as an actor to pull it off.

The answer is Ford.

Ford was the best, but Hunt for Red October is my fav Jack Ryan film

I liked the first season of Jack Ryan on Amazon. Krasinski played a decent version of Jack, being a timid analyst initially. That blonde is mint too. It's too bad season 2 went full comrade. lol @ blaming the US for Venezuela's disasters, and not crippling socialism.
