When Will The UFC INtroduce The 115-Pound Strawweight Division

115?

I was skinny as hell, and still weighed more than that in junior high.

Too many arbitrary, overly specific weight classes already. Too many meaningless 'champions'. Less is more.

3 divisions of weight is more than enough for human males. At this level of fighting you should be able to compete with people within 30 pounds of you.

115 pounders could be great for some human cannon ball show before the main event

Very little talent there. But if there was, why not? Some of my favorite Boxers belong in divisions lighter than 115 lbs and theres a lot of talent in those weight classes.

Boxing fans: Look up Kazuto Ioka and Roman Gonzalez. They're two of my favorite lighter weight fighters both fight at 108 lbs

I do not see many North Americans making the cut to 115, but there could be some quality fighters from Asian cultures that could. If the UFC were to step up their foreign recruiting efforts in an attempt to add quality fighters to the smaller divisions, I would be all for it.

Here we go again.

The same thing I say in every one of these threads and no one seems to understand.. They don't actually weigh 115... They probably weigh 145 or so.

You mean that they cut 25% of their whole body weight?

Seems plausible.

Don't forget Brazil. Although they don't seem to produce guys as small as their Spanish speaking neighbors, they do have 115 lbers and they actually held a tournament for the 114 lb weight class in Shooto Brazil. Lincoln De Sa was the winner.

I don't believe that will happen anytime soon.
They still lack fighters in the flyweight division. Many fans don't care for the flyweight division.
115 pounds is very small. UFC is an American company, small asian fighters won't have a lot of appeal to their core customers.

that makes it all the more ridicilous if you ask me

Otherwise known as the midget and amputees division. Unless of course it is a female-only division.

Bring it on, it would be fun hearing everyone say that the 115 guys are extremely talented, more than the others, and once a KO or a sub happens after 100 fights or so, all the believers will have proof that it's also an exciting division :icon_lol:

I sincerely really hope they never bring in a 115-pound division.

115lb division would be great to bring in Asia and Latin America...Dana want his to be a world wide sport!

That's ridiculous. So GSP should be able to compete with Jones? At the highest level weight difference means more.

I doubt that. A fighter who fights at 115 lbs probably weighs 130-140 lbs, and I think 140 lbs is really pushing it.

I don't think 115 lbs division should be brought in yet. Let FLW grow first, which imo it already has a good amount of high level fighters. It will just take some time for them to become popular and to bring in prospects that fans can get to know.
