When Will The UFC INtroduce The 115-Pound Strawweight Division

There is so much talent in this division in asia. When will the UFC bring it in. If women can fight in the ufc then so should 115 pounders. This will make events even more stacked. Who is excited about seeing this? Get tweeting Dana to speed it up.

Look at this dude.

He's the 115 champ, same height as Dominick Cruz and he looks like a stick. I get that Asian fighters are bone skinny but do we really need to build a division around them? These guys should really be fighting at higher weight classes. The real solution would be for Asian mma to catch up to the rest of the world by incorporating strength conditioning and having these guys put on some muscle.

To be fair that guy doesn't look too bad. He actually looks better than the average man. I don't imagine he's worried to take his top off at the beach (no homo).

I don't think the TS was serious.

Anyways, the UFC doesn't need to bring in every fucking weight class there is. They are already down to 125 and if someone wants to fight below that, fight somewhere else.

soon as Faber takes a run at the 125 lb title and loses, this division will all of a sudden be introduced

Probably one day, but not soon.

Once the UFC is holding events in Asia that cater specifically to that market, you'll probably see a 115 pound division.

They can barely sell 125 so I don't see this happening anytime soon.

Here we go again.

The same thing I say in every one of these threads and no one seems to understand.. They don't actually weigh 115... They probably weigh 145 or so.

most likely more like 135 but yes there are lots of in shape cut men around the world who walk around at like 5'8 135, thats skinny to all of us but a lot of hispanic and asian boxers compete at 115-118 and are fun to watch. I don't think they should though bc of lack of debth

Hopefully they will phase out the 125/135lbs divisions as they are not very popular with the paying fans. 115lbs just sounds like a bad joke.

Can they even sell 135, besides Faber? There are some pretty good fighters, but I kinda doubt that it's a huge success.

So much dumb in this post.

1. Hes not representative of most 115ers
2. Asian fighters aren't bone skinny.
3. They shouldn't be fighting at higher weight classes
4. S&C is not the root of Asian MMA fighters problems

This use to be a solid argument against zany ideas the UFC may try to pull off; However, the whole "They are a company and need to market and make money" debate seems to be of less relevance to the powers that be in regards to several business decisions they have made recently. If less than a quarter million PPV is something they can work with, or they got this Fox thing figured out in 2013 with the upcoming 35 events or so, then ok, great, but I'm just nervous something is afoot, hence the Rousey headliner out of nowhere. Smart business? Sure, could be the UFC digging down deep to lay the foundation for yet another 5 year run of success. Yea, it could be that I guess.

people here will hate, but at some point UFC will add a bunch of divisions. I see it like this in 10 years:

men's:

265
205
185
170
155
145
135
125
115

women's:

145
135
125
115
105

inb4 Raden.

Even Ravden doesn't think we should have a 115 division anytime soon. I'm inclined to agree with him until the 125 division is filled out, and the belt and been defended a few times. I'm one of the biggest lighter weight supporters on this site and 115 would be overkill atm.

Also it's still hilarous to see so many people think that these guys(flys) weigh 125 on fight night. They're 140 and some walk around as big as 155-160.

115 pounds.. are you serious? My dog weighs more than that.

Probably never or atleast many years. If that div starts to get built up in Asia more and Mexico etc they might look into it years from now but they wont be thinking about that anytime soon.
