When America Was Great...

I think I already addressed it on the first page, right?

America's economy was great back then; it's not a question of social justice. That's what Trump was referring to. If we could go back and rewrite history, we would have a postwar boom with rights for all, but that's not how life works.

It's too bad what happened, but don't get your panties in a bunch when people refer to the relative greatness of the postwar era in terms of economics.
that economy today is completely different than it was in the 50s. pre reaganomics, tax cuts for the rich, union busting, outsourcing, and trickle down economics. arguing for a 50s economy is completely arguing against modern conservative economics.

1950's economics:

-Near total unionization of the workforce
-91% maximum tax rate
-Massive trade tariffs
-Strict enforcement of anti-trust laws, and breaking up of big companies
-Extensive public funding of colleges and infrastructure

Bernie's the closest thing to 1950's tax, trade and regulation policy.

Massive Trade Tariffs? Post War US lead the way for tariff reduction. In fact, there wasnt a single tariff implemented in the 50's after the GATT in 1947 which greatly reduced trade tariffs. The next act wasn't until 1964 when trade tariffs were reduced again by up to 50%.

Those economic benefits mostly applied to straight, white, christian men.

America was great before the goddamn hippie scumbags and leftists ruined it.

I believe one can pinpoint the moment when the shark was jumped, and that was when brave soldiers that fought to protect the free people of South Vietnam were spat upon by spoiled, Marxist college students in solidarity with the murderous Viet Cong. That moment was the apex of the hippie movement's depravity, and the fact they weren't completely discredited but were instead lauded for their sick, traitorous actions showed us that things would never be the same. They had won, the culture had shifted, the disdainful intellectual class had succeeded in brainwashing Americans into handing over the reins to leftists.

There were a few good years during the Reagan years but that was just a brief reprieve. The frightening thing is that BLM et. al. are going to make the hippies look like patriots.

Didn't we have a few good years with Clinton too?

YEAH THAT TOO.

Ill always remember being told that americans are loud and to keep it down while checking into a french hotel. I had never considered it.

We got drunk and loud later though.

The only people saying America sucks and everything is going downhill is white straight American men. I mean you still have all the advantages. things just got little more even and you guys are crying foul.

You can't "go" anywhere on the internet without seeing people talk shit about America/Americans. Lol. It's not even a joke, that's legitimately true. In every international forum or discussion group online that I'm a member of, there's a healthy contingent of people that dislike America and hold generally negative views of Americans. These are fairly educated people, too. They're mostly smug Europeans that were able to build their societies after WWII in large part because of American aid or because American military protection allowed them to dedicate their resources to bettering their societies instead of self-defense, but this escapes 99% of them.

With regards to the causes, sure, it's a complex mix. It was a complex mix under Eisenhower, a complex mix under W, a complex mix under Obama, and will be a complex mix under Trump. The point is, even with a liberal in office for 8 years things have not gotten better but worse. So once again, why is that a reason not to vote Trump?

Internet, television, and social media play a huge factor on the current opinion of Americans, especially social media and social media is bigger then it has ever been. I don't think Obama has as big of an influence on the image of the fat, loud, brash, and low educated American that some of the people from the world have that you think it does. I don't see how your assumption that the supposed increase of hate on Americans is because of Obama should be a reason to vote for Trump even if it were true. If a president truly has the ultimate influence on the opinions of foreigners when it comes to Americans then Trump won't fix that image he will make it worse.

If Obama didn't have an effect, then why did you bring up Trump?

Since when does the dominant group ever give up its advantages willingly?

We're not counting leftists here, since they've shown to be cucks of the highest order and enjoy rolling over and taking it in the ass.

No, I feel pretty calm because I know things in the US will change soon; Trump winning is one of them.

It's the others here who are running scared.

The majority of the people were white in America. Women are still treated as they were in the past in a lot of places. The people of a country will benefit more than people from a different country. This isn't something unique to white men.

This whole thread is a pathetic attempt to guilt trip and bash white males.
