its a narrative purely based on cognitive dissonance and going with the grain of the easy opinion. a stupendously large majority of fans do not get elite level athletes do not think like they do. they don't "fear" really any fighter especially if its a fighter like Islam Makachev who is by the way, taking a bigger challenge by facing a much bigger man, who happens to be more complete and has terrific takedown defence.

there isn't much for him to do in LW as one fighter shouldn't be enough for him to stay there as Islam is doing what Khabib didn't and pursuing the ambitious move for a heavier weight, to which by the way may just end up suiting him weight wise bc boy does that make take weightt cuts hard.
