What was your first impression of the current beltholders?

How could that be your first impression? That doesnt even make any sense.

Same with Zhang...do you even know what a journeyman is?
Yeah. That's what first impression is, judging someone before finding out. I never looked at their pre-ufc career, record or background because that would be an educated guess.

Tom Aspinall- Can crusher coming out of the UK. (His 2 fights before the UFC were a combined record of like 3-7) Then like his aggressive style on debut.
Magomed Ankalaev- Dismissed him pretty quick after the submission loss to Paul Craig.
Khamzat Chimaev- Fan boy'd pretty hard, predicted a title in his future.
JDM- Loved the combination striking, was going to have Aussie bias, yet saw real talent.
Illia Topuria- Saw genuine prospect and questioned who'd be able to match up against him.
Volk- Watched Volk on the regional scene and knew he had a future, did not expect the career he's had.
Merab- Didn't think twice about him.
Pantoja- Rated his style and thought he could be a contender.

but felt like he stole a lot of Khabib's fan base just by saying "smesh"

This couldn´t be further from the truth because Khamzat and khabib fans do not overlap it is like saying the right wing and left overlap each other.

Khabib draws conservative family oriented fans who take good behaviour and code of conduct as great pillar of life both of Muslim, Christians and non muslims in Russia, Asia, in the caucasian region, Africa and in the west ppl who value good conduct tend to favor him.

Khamzat draws more street fans, ppl who like badassery, dominance and Meme´s as Khamzat himself is a walking meme. Khamzat became famous because of memes and all his interviews generated memes like the phrase kill everybuddy brather etc etc.

However Khabib and Islam´s fanbases overlap

There was noticeable overlap between khabib fans and Khamzat fans when he first broke on to the scene. Trust me, I was on here and I saw it for myself as Khabib was exiting the UFC and Khamzat was coming in and making his name. Seriously, anyone from the caucus regions at that time (right when khabib retired) who came in and dominated a fight then said "smesh", was getting a lot of attention from fans that felt empty after khabib left.

not exactly these were MMA fans and just playing into the khamzat memes early on. There are plenty of khamzat and Khabib/Islam fans on this board but they never overlap. You will find islam antis in Chimaev fanbase and vice versa

You'll find all of the above, including a lot of overlap. If you want to go and do a demographic study of their fanbases, go ahead lol.

You would be amazed to know that Conor McGregor´s biggest haters come from Ireland. When Conor lost to Khabib the once dragging Conor most vicoiusly were Irish and including Ireland´s biggest newspapers celebrated his demise and trashed him as if they were waiting for that single opportunity in their entire lives.

Ppl are ppl at the end of the day and nobody likes someone behaving like a damn baboon on national TV trying to sell a fight or not

Eh. Aspinall being a paper champion is a bad take, especially when Jon Jones himself is a paper champion at Heavyweight also considering he never beat Ngannou.
ive seen gane vs nganou
gane whoooped him

and i also saw how jones strangled gane like a nobody

but yeah everytime nganou loses theres lots of excuses right

if jones was the paper champ that makes nganou look trash

That isnt correct.

At ALL.

There are plenty of fans, like myself, who have NOTHING in common with Khabib's religion or family values, that simply like him cos he's a great fighter and interesting personality, and there IS overlap because those people who like Khabib for those attributes can and do also like Khamzat.

You just made that shit up!

Tom - I knew he’d be champ one day
Ank- I thought yeah he’ll get the belt at one point
Khamzat - I was very impressed but skeptical
JDM - Knew he had potential
Ilia - I knew he’d be champ
Volk - I knew he’d be champ
Merab - honestly didn’t think he’d be champ
Pantoja - Thought he could be champ if he put it all together

Women. Don’t care.

Aspinall, because I can do a pretty good English accent.

Tom: Wow. He fast.
Ank: Another neckbeard.
Hazmat: Another neckbeard, but this dude is wild.
JDM: Good, not great. Will be ranked, but not champ.
Islam: Kirkland Khabib
Topturo: Spanish Conor. Wow this dude almost got KO'd by Jai Herbert?
Volk: Aussies are cool, but I love Aldo and he'll be champ forever.
Merab: Wth did I just watch? (bicycling with his legs while unconscious) This dude is goofy.
Pants: Don't remember.

Tom Aspinall - First thing I remember is some interview where he said he wanted to take things slow and fight more lower ranked guys. I thought "sounds like a smart humble guy" but had no idea he was this good.
Magomed Ankalaev - First fight I saw was when he kicked Lungiambula's chin into orbit, so quite a good first impression.
Khamzat Chimaev - Manifested my wet dream of a bigger Khabib. Been on the hype day since the beginning.
JDM - Nice boxing. Kinda ugly face. I like him but never considered him champ calibre.
Illia Topuria - Ground and pounded buttscooting troll Ryan Hall into a slumber. This dude ain't playing no fucking games.
Volk - I was a Volk hater for a long time. He finally won me over with the 3rd Max fight.
Merab - Never liked him.
Pantoja - This dude looks like crap but apparently he's good?
Kayla Harrison - She's gonna kill these soccar moms. I'm not even mad she's on roids.
Valentina Schevchenko - Better than Nunes
Zhang Weili - Loved her since the Tecia Torrez fight
