What is more dangerous NFL or UFC?

Way more concussions in football. But fighters suffer more low level repetitious damage, it's hard to say which is worse. But you don't really hear about too many "punchy" footballers.
It might just be a dirty little secret, though.
I've only really known of Frank Bruno and Chuck being punch drunk. Kids playing full contact football can't be good for an under developed brain. I'm not whining about it because NFL is the bestest, but I don't think it's safe for kids.

Kinda thought that might be the case. Must be pretty bad in rugby as well. Only time I have ever had a concussion was headbutting someone.
Rugby just recently had a class action law suit against the unions about the concussions lead by an English player who can't even remember being in Australia when he won the Rugby World Cup.

I fought a lot and never did weight cuts. I think they should be banned and fighters should have to fight at their natural weight.

Amen but thats not how it is, so we need to consider weight cutting

I agree completely. Weight cutting is essentially lying about your weight (and wanting to fight someone smaller) and that shit pisses me off...

The air is not safe, these days...

NFL, easily.

It's actually shocking at how safe MMA is in the long term. Other than Chuck Liddell, they all seem to be doing okay. How James Thompson isn't a vegetable in a wheelchair is beyond me.

The offensive and defensive lines put each other through a car crash’s worth of punishment.

I mean hell it depends on the fight and the fighter. Both are dangerous. Doesn’t gymnastics have more injuries than both?

I could imagine gymnastics having a lot of injuries, flipping around isn't the safest of activities.

Rugby doesn’t hit as hard as the nfl. Go back to the 1980s. If they weren’t wearing gear they’d all be dead.

You can't launch yourself helmet first into someone without a helmet and padding. The collisions have less force but the tackles are closer to real take downs and still damaging (I tore my shoulder performing a tackle in a rugby game senior year).

Weight cutting is a choice and not necessary to compete. So it shouldn't be included in this subject.

Totally wrong plus this is my thread so I say what goes. #imboss

All the greats cut weight except for HW's... Khabib almost died from cutting weight

I don’t disagree that rugby is tough. It most certainly is but the NFL is different game and the hits are harder.

Most UFC fans say NFL is more dangerous I dont think so though. NFL athletes dont get routinely KO'd or choked out. Nor do they spar or cut weight. If you watch an NFL game its mostly twisted knees and ankles. Rember Overeem vs Ngannou? Shots like that kill people IRL.

NFL.

Multiple concussions within a short time frame is much worse, and during fotball season they get many within a short time frame.

MMA fighters can rest fully between fights.

Also if you focus on defense/wrestling and train with little contact you can go years without any head trauma.

Don’t write this off as just a movie scene. It’s pretty accurate. Even with the helmet, football players have the potential for a ton more blows to the head

Yes but we know what really happens most of the time in training... guy gets his bell rung and goes back for more.

Dont forget the decade or so leading up to the Pros. All those practices, and school/city games, it's crazy punishment depending on the position.
I played peewee football in 5th grade and had 2 concussions in a year before I decided football wasn’t for me. I was 10.
