The original Ghost Recon. They turned the series into a linear track shooter in which enemies spawn in when you get to certain checkpoints, starting with the second one.
In the first, they just dropped you into a map. The enemies were always present and had a patrol route. It was up to you to carefully sneak up, form a strategy, and execute it. It was difficult, but really fun. Especially playing with a friend. And now that everything is online, it would be perfect.
They may have gone back to how it was originally with later entries. I don’t know since I gave up on the series after Ghost Recon 2 disappointed me.
